The NOS SUB I won on ebay arrived today and it is mint not one ding, scratch, etc.,
Thanks for the tip Glenn.
The only problem was the trem they sent was not for the SUB, so if anyone has a spare trem arm let me know.

It is indeed a killer bargin, soon the fun will begin:eek:

.... gonna change the pickguard ?

Please tell me you are, fingbeagles :(

It was the first thing I did to my Sub. I just could not stand the sight of the aluminium effect pickguard. I always felt the guitar merited being better dressed.

My replacement isn't everyone's cup of Irn Bru, but it's a darn sight better looking that the checkplate it came with.

D Sonic going in? Race ye!

Lots of things will change, pick guard for sure, most likely going with a black pearliod, black ice color and D-Sonic for sure, just have to start procurring the parts, in no hurry but again it was asteal at the price I got it for.

Looking forward to Dans reply to see the history, hell plastic is stil on it:)

 I love the aluminium pickguard !

I think a metal pickguard it's a nice touch (remember the Zemaitis ?). It's a bit like a mirror when you play on a stage.

In Red the Sub is really great.

My Sub could use some upgrades but since it's at work and I don't plug it in there is no rush. I just wanted that EBMM feel when I practice on my lunch hour.

Good find Fings. I have never seen one in the flesh. Is the painted neck hard to get used to?

It was one of my fear when I bought my SUB (I am so used to my Morse). In fact, the neck is really smooth. You don't have the "sticky feel" you can have with other guitar brands. Thus, a nice neck and really a nice guitar.

Thanks, Glenn found it, just never expected to get it, while I will always prefer the unfinished necks, it is smooth to be a finished neck, and the guitar is so light, lucky to get it in mint condition.

Very nice looking Sub. Man the rosewood on it is very very nice! Your lucky I had to work in the waning hours/minutes of the auction, as I was going to snatch that one up, as I don't have a red or a white one. However, I'm definitely happy a forumite won it. I'm with you on the pickguard...I know lots of folks like them, but I can't be counted in; to me they look cheap.

Why not turn it into a SubAss? Order up a double hummer pickguard with 5-way switch cutout; get a super strat switch and yer fave pups and wire it up like an ASS.

Remember, I created the term SubAss...;):D

Well tonight was the first time I actually played the SUB, schedule this week did not give me much time to do anything, but man I am blown away how sweet this one is, even with old strings just sweet, hardly had to tune it, anyone know what the stock PUP is? Part of me wants to leave it as is except he pick guard, anyways happy camper with scoring this:D

Keith,

Congrats on scoring one of the most overlooked steals on the market (the other being an AL) :D

We had a few SUBs come through here and I wish we had been able to hide some away.

Thanks Pete,
Should have kept the one I got from you, bought it for a co-worker who backed out on it, in hindsight should have given it more of a go then:eek:

The other being an AL BFR youse guys need to buy those in stock ones from Pete

Nice one fing, I've thought of adding a Sub to the collection a few times myself :)

Thanks Stu if you can find a bargin go for it:D

CS said they were going for a PAF Pro sound with it.

Thanks for the info i can see that, still going to try my experiment and see how it sounds.
