Guys, I know some of us have really nice guitars and we'd love to show them off. But this is an EBMM forum, and it's paid for by EBMM. I think we owe them the due respect not to utilise their band width for other branded products. It's just not right.

If you want to get a free online image bank, then go look for Image hosting, free photo sharing & video sharing at Photobucket or something. Lets not make BP get pissed off enough to shut the gallery idea down, shall we?

We're a good community here, and while yes, there are OTHER brands out there, and we're all free to choose what we want to play, there's something called "respect for each other's territory", and I think this should be exercised by each and everyone of us.

"You are free to extend your fist to where my nose begins, but I also have the right not to have my nose bloodied" - a wise man I know.

This would probably upset some people, but I'm not trying to step on anyone's toes here. Just giving a heads up to everyone before the powers that be do it.

I think agree with you on this. Gives me a bad feeling when I see them at the top of the page. It's easy to just have a link to your photobucket account in your signature or something for your other gear.

this is really anb example of us trying to give people a platform to show off their Music Man instruments and despite repated friendly warnings a insensitive few will make this feature go away. THey will them harp on about censorship and start calling all of us fanboys...ive seen the movie

Would it be possible to allow a moderator to give us personal access to this feature. If you abuse it you lose it kinda thing.

Personally I loved seeing my guitar and basses up for a few days then gone to a nice sub. But today I find everything other than a MM. Thats just Wrong. You would think common sense would dictate what you post.

If not I would understand yanking the feature. Not to many NoN EB instruments appear on the picture threads.

All I can say is, "BP I admire your patience" (sincerely)! It's a great quality to have.

However, I also admire God's patience, but as we can all read for ourselves in the OT & NT, it does eventually run out - then WATCH OUT!!!

I would say we're one "straw" away.

I could never post non Music Man instruments pics......kinda hard too since I sold or gave away all those other piles of c**p I owned :D
I don't see why people do it anyways, it's like going to a Corvette club meeting to show off your Fiat.

I've wondered about this. It's so obvious that it wouldn't be a cool thing to do.

Personally, I don't think it's as obvious as you'd think. There's a ton of forums out there that aren't company specific, and even some of the ones that are, aren't as heavily moderated as this one. If those are the types of forums a person frequents, it wouldn't be immediately obvious that they shouldn't post off topic brands here. (Keep in mind, I'm a HUGE fan of the moderation here, and it's the reason I keep coming back. I come here to see and talk about EBMMs. I don't give a crap that you also own a cool Ibanez.)

So on some of the forums I attend, there is a minimum post count or member level before you can do certain things. Maybe something like that could be applied here? Once you reach say 50 posts, you have no excuse for not knowing the rules, and maybe the feature can be enabled. Thoughts?

I'd just hate to see the feature disappear because of newbies that might not understand the rules.

Over moderated? give me a break....over moderationg is making rules when someone can do things and what 'status'they have to be.....

I dont think there is a guitar forum that is paid for by the manufacturer that enjoys paying or allows other stuff to be featured.

BP, I apologize if I wasn't clear. I never meant to imply that this forum is OVER moderated. I just said it was HEAVILY moderated. I also intentially used the word moderated as opposed to censored - because I don't think you are censoring. You and the rest of the moderators are trying to keep us on topic, and that's what I want and like about this place. It's what keeps it clean and comfortable. None of what I said was a complaint. The intent was to make a suggestion to help us all avoid losing features that you all are working hard to provide....

I don't take Mike as speaking for himself, but for gearhead site warriors. I have no reason to hang at other manufacturer specific sites, but I couldn't imagine posting pictures of my Balls on Ib, Gib, Fender, Suhr, etc forums. But I guess no one ever claimed guitar players are smart. :p

Personally I think there's no argument....EBMM site is for EBMM guitars, if I want to talk about other makes or swap pics I'll use the appropriate website. Not many of them come anywhere near the standard of this one.
