I just got my first EMBB yesterday, a Steve Morse.

When it comes to the poll, definitely fit/construction/sound. I don't like that endorsement nonsense (EMBB isn't as bad as ESP, though) and I'm not sure about the looks.

But the feel and finish of this guitar is great, and from my first sit-downs I can say that I have never played a guitar as articulate as this one. For a wide variety of amp settings and pickup selection this one just does what you tell it to and great detail of your playing makes it through (let's leave aside whether that's always an advantage :)).

This one has sound.

I played a couple in music shops before but didn't quite click. Not sure why, I guess because of the looks, and I prefer gloss painted necks (not the sticky variant, though). I now decided to get a Morse mainly because I'd a sucker for pickup combinations and this one has it.

Long story, I've always liked the look of them and I played some Silos at my local Sam Ash store and loved the feel of the neck. My guitars are paired with amps (happy couples!), '93 Gibson Les Paul Studio Lite w/'93 Marshall Valvestate 8040 (Classic big rock sound),and '97 Fender USA Stratocaster w/'93 Fender Pro 185 (clean reverbed surf tones to blues, think '70s Clapton).

I play in church, the sound guys like low stage volume (so do the singers!) but I need big rock sounds. They had me playing through a POD which really didn't do it for me, I tried, I really did. Then I found a Hughes & Kettner Tubeman at the local music store. Now what guitar could match that in quality, that I could afford? I found my EBMM SUB 1 online at a music sore in NH at a good price, and snapped it up. Another marriage made in heaven! The SUB 1 covers Strat and Les Paul territory quite well and sounds truly awesome through the The Tubeman.

The SUB 1 is bulletproof too, which is important in our church. Think teenagers doing skits as part of the service, and props being moved around. My guitar went face first off the stand a couple of services ago. My Les Paul would have cracked or snapped at the nut. The Strat would have faired a bit better but could have suffered a scratch or two. The SUB 1 emerged unscathed, nothing but the B string went out of tune by about 5 cents. Amazing! Love my Ball!

Great fit, superb construction

Why do I love my balls?

Having played EC signature guitars for years and couldn't imagine changing to anything else. That was until I picked up a Luke!

Being vertically challenged (5ft 6inches tall), slim build and small hands I always felt uncomfortable looking at pictures of me playing my guitar. The necks were always a little bigger than I really wanted. So whilst I liked the sound, we just weren't a perfect fit.

Enter Luke. Having travelled 200 miles just to try a Luke, I instantly fell in love. The neck is awesome, body really comfortable and that much smaller than my EC. I love the pickups and variety in tone too.

So is Luke my ideal guitar? Well... it's pretty close. I'd love to have a custom made Axis SS with Luke neck and pickups - now that would be utopia. I could have one made in UK but it wouldn't be a ball would it!

For now I cherish my rad red Luke and I'm saving for BFR in tobacco burst.

But, if EBMM ever decides to establish a custom shop, I'll be first in the line with my order.

Keep on rockin'

Paul

The fit/finish/construction/tones are Phenomenal!!!...And I do love the designs!!!
But i must admit... When i was young and impressionable, some of the current & previous endorsees helped lure me.

The EBMM community is also amazing. I can't express how much i appreciate the companies interaction and engagement with it's client base... I just love this company and their axes... end of story.

I think this poll goes to show one thing... (I'm surprised this thread is still alive though)

When it comes to a guitar like EBMM, the product is far stronger than the brand. Not many people know of this brand. I had comments in guitar shops like: "Wait, that string maker makes guitars? Are they any good?" But for all of us enlightened ones, the minute we try one, there's no turning back.

Most people who've tried my 20th or my JP6 cannot put it down. My usual response when they ask to try is: "Are you absolutely sure? Don't blame me if you lose sleep after this..."

Heheheheheh...
