Hi EBMM fanatics/lunatics!

Well - now i think i am totally crazy...

The story - 2 of my Balls have to leave the house... the Axis and the SiloSpecial will go to a good friend of mine (so they are not far from me) - lately i was thinking of an ASS  because i like the neck and the shaping, etc.

.....BUT what i am really looking for is a Tone-Machine for LIVE-gigs... soaring leads, punchy rhythm and some Single-coil kinda sounds...
And i definetly need a neck humbucker for some leads so HSS doesn´t really work for me...

...and finally i don´t want to modify the 20th...

I also have an awesome CS 60s Relic Strat for Single-Coil heaven... and a great ´58 LP but only an EBMM plays like butter and feels so good - especially for Live-gigs i cannot imagine a better guitar!

Actually Dizzys clip was a bit thought provoking for me - positions 2 and 4 sounds really great on a Silo! Wowie Zowie....

Long story short i think i need a Silo - swap the Pu´s and be in tone and gigging heaven!

Sorry for my bad english - too much caffeine today...:D

Where are the SILO-LOVERS (Fogman.....)

Silos are awesome!!!!
Very versatile with a great range in tones, and more modern sounding.
It why I got one. Before i actually get to the point of actually having many guitars, I needed something that could do it all. It's very different from the the Silo Specials.
Get one, you'll be glad you did!

yo foggy!

yeah that is what i am thinking of - it depends on the gig but generally i don´t like to take a lot of gear to a gig... so a one in all would be the best...

the 20th, the axis or the jp6 are great axes but are lacking in the single-coil-esque department, the luke and the silo special are also great and tone-chameleons but as i said i need a neck-bucker for soloin, the morse is also great but i think i´ll like the silo more.

is the bridge-humbucker the same as the bridge-humbucker from a ss? maybe i like the stock pu´s that would be great... i missed something on the ss pickups...

i need more soundclips from positions 2 and 4 - if those are really that good - i am sold and i have to order one fast! ...but maybe it´s more the preamp (sansamp) from dizzy... i dunno.

some silo-pix fogmaster to push the g.a.s.?!:D

cheers,
tom

You want a Silhouette for sure... I keep saying this, but I personally haven't got mine yet... Hahahaha... Been too happy with the Silo spec and the 20ths... I will, eventually...

i am pretty happy with my 20th too... but honestly i think these two guitars don´t have that much in common... for the live-use i am looking forward to get a trem and two humbuckers - if the single-coils sounds (split positions) on the silo are really that good (like in dizzys clip) i will order one immediately...

i am afraid posting the following... lol

i was looking for a sss guitar and i strongly considered the al but to be honest for sss -heaven i have found my guitar - it´s a fender relic 60s strat that gives me all i want and this baby has some serious mojo

but let´s come back to the SILOS!!!!
i think the silo will replace my ss - i am thinking about candyred with moonstone pg, matching headstock, trem w. piezo.... hmmmm:cool:

I don't know for certain, but I'm pretty sure the bridge buckers are not the same. When I was test driving the Silo & SS side by side, they seemed different. I'm pretty sure they're not the same.

Position 2 and 4 are to die for!!!!!!
They are my faves!

I haven't seen that colour combo. I'm sure it'll look rockin'

Regarding the Preamp, here's a post of mine from another thread :

The Silo went into the PSA-1 to add just a little dirt, then Alesis Quadraverb 2 in the effects loop for a bit of reverb, then into the EL34 equipped MusicMan 410-HD.

The MM had just been revalved & biased with a nice 12AX7 and a set of matched Winged C's. Bright switch off, Deep switch on.

That amp always gives phenomenal tone - the original speakers from 1972'ish have a lot to do with it - I've run my Mesa 20/20 (EL84) through them too, sounds sweet.

I reckon Finger style (no nails) always gives a fatter tone too - takes the edge off and gives a bit more meat.

Take nothing away from the Silo though - it sounds awesome in all positions, and it definately the ONLY axe in my collection for this tone.

:)

Edit :

Oh, and here are some pics

but what i like is endless!!!!!!

I'm currently considering an 08LE S.S. w/ SSS, white pearl S.S. with white guard (all natty stocks of course w/ trem)
Also considering an Ice Blue Al.

What's the difference between white and white pearl? Anybody (Foggy?) got any pics to illustrate the contrast?

white is just pure opaque white.
