Wow, the Tyler story is really disappointing...I didn't know the guy, or the circumstances behind it, but I guess he was a young'un, and he has a lot of years ahead of him to figure out what really matters.
Back on thread I hope, after seeing Dizzy's Dire Straits performance, I've been dialing in the specs on my first Silo non-Special. I have three Silo Specials (SSS, HSS, HSS+piezo) and a 20th Silo, but I've just got to have an HSH Silo now.
Dizzy, my wife hates you (or will, in 4-5 months).

Damn Tyler what were you thinking. It's too bad. You had a very good thing with the EBMM family. And I don't think you'll find anyone else out there that will treat you any better than Sterling and the people that surround him. But like Ben said, there were other influences around him. and he's still very young and probably doesn't know the ways of the world, just yet. But I think he got some bad advice. I'm sure he'll see the error of his ways one day.

I'm so stoked to have promoted so much Silo Love !!.
Make no mistake - there is nothing NON-Special about the Original Silo.
Was playing mine last night learning John Alphabet's "Steve's Stunt Double"
- even unplugged is an ablsolute joy.
I honestly don't think I'll ever get another standard HSH Silo, just out of sheer love for my white one.
Other guitars will come & go, but my white HSH Silo is the ducks nuts.

Tyler is getting too much airtime. He was an ungreatful punk in the end. He is a talented YOUNG guitarist that has gotten way overinflated by his diaper making dad and the namedropping photographer. ( The photographer still tells Guitar Center that he doesnt manage Tyler)

He is and he was. And I'm sorry to agree with that, but there's no other way to look at it. Of all the things, the dumb things I've done in my life, I never looked around at 16 or 17 and said, "Hmm, I think the right thing to do is to fire the people who will have my back no matter what."
Well, thank God that Sterling Ball and Steve Lukather aren't well regarded in the music business, otherwise it could have been an even bigger mistake.
He is, but there are about a million of those out there at any given time. Unfortunately, almost all of them go on to careers other than music. It's hard to make good decisions when you're not old enough to buy beer, but the decisions Tyler made (or let people make for him) were clearly bad.
If Sterling Ball invites you to be a member of the family, you need to pay attention.
If Steve Lukather says he'll help you as best he can to become a fixture rather than a flash in the pan, you need to pay attention.
And when Ben Alsup is your friend, you need to pay attention to that, too.
I think that is all I'm ever going to say about it.
