I broke down and went yesterday, Sherman Oaks location here in sunny L.A.
Pretty disappointed in the Ball selection, BUT I finally got to check out some BFRs! I didn't plug in, cause I can't afford one right now, but got to check out the necks/feel which was very helpful. I've been thinking JP6BFR for some time now, but wow is that neck slim! The Luke BFR on the other hand, I like! Might have switched gears based on that. I'm iffy about EMGs though, just me. I think the BFR's were on sale, I'm not sure. Can't remember the price for sure either. They had a couple of non-Bfr jps, and a couple Silo's and that was it! Kinda surprised. I'll have to hit the Hollywood store soon.
Anyways, the sale was pretty crappy for my needs. Picked up some EB strings, a $10 EB strings t-shirt!, a new stand for the new Axis, and ALMOST went for a Audio Technica AT202 mic, $80!, but decided to wait. EB wah was on sale too, but I hardly play my other 2 wahs! Anyone else bite??

I checked out the Vegas Blvd GC just for fun and was surprised to find the store basically empty on Sat. at around noon. They had a smokin Bahama Blue Flame Luke BFR, two diff Silo's( HSH and SSH) a nice Petrucci and a pair of Axis (Axii...?)

I really didn't ask for prices because I have no real needs, wants yes, but needs, no.:D

I was looking for the new EB cables and didn't find any so I just browsed and let my son enjoy the 'hands on' policy

Was this the "you're one of our best customers so...." invitation for after hours sale? I went to one during our state "no sales tax weekend" 2 weeks ago. 20% off any guitar over $1000 and I was also given a $20 spendable gift check for anything. That JP looked pretty good at that discount, but I'm not really in the market for one...so left with a bunch of slinkys. That's the only EBMM guitar in that store.

If it's something going on this weekend in all the stores, I'm going into another GC tomorrow. Although, come to think of it, there are no EBMM's besides bass' there.

I received a $25 promotional gift card and invitation to after hours party. A very nice gesture I was happy to get four sets of EB Slinky's. Couldn't make it to the list sale, but at the last one I got a sweet deal on some monitors. Mostly these sales are for closeouts and clearance merchandise.

Hey Pug, where is the GC on LV Blvd?

They recently added this ridiculous shopping experience (what they like to call it) and it's before the Mandalay Bay area of the strip coming from 215. A nice idea but the outdoor theme is brutal during the summer!!

The GC on Tropicana closed and relocated to this new location, it'sa pretty large store and has a better layout

Thanks for the tip jamminjim, the link has been removed, sorry about that

Hey Pugninjas - your town square link has a virus upon opening....

trojan horse - Downloader.Generic_c.ACX

suggest people don't open it and if you have do a scan with your antivirus/malware program

I stopped in with a $25 gift card they sent out. I'm just buying strings these days. I always need them.

Well, if you're in Vegas on your honeymoon, I would imagine I would have to buy you and your bride some celebratory adult beverages :D

Friends of mine got married NYE 03/04 in Vegas ... what a blast that was.

Great build up to the "I do's" ... something to the effect of "... I believe in luck, but your marriage is no gamble ..."

For reasons that I won't bore you with Hannah and I are getting legally married in the UK, though the Elvis Vegas wedding is something we have always wanted to do so we are going to have two weddings! Maybe I should look into getting some cool vows incorporated!

My wife and I were married in Vegas back in 1999. We tied the knot at The Candlelight Wedding Chapel (which is no longer here). We actually re-newed our vows at the Drive Thru Wedding Chapel a year later just for the experience.

There used to be several more great theme chapels here, but the monster casino's have gotten into the act and brought the lovely $40,000+ wedding experierence into the fray.

Our entire wedding ceremony, which included video, limo, champagne flutes, t-shirts, preacher, organist, photography, and license cost around $500.
:D

We were all ready to have the ridiculous, over the top, Long Island style wedding and came to the realization that we just wanted to get married. None of that other stuff really meant anything to us so we cancelled the planned reception and just went to Vegas

Well Hannah and I have a limited budget for our legal wedding that we are having here, and to be honest neither of us want fuss. Having spent years in function bands seeing multi £1000 weddings I don't want a part of that at all!

We are going to get married in a registry office with about 5 friends there, and then go to the London Hard Rock for a meal! The only extravagance is that I am going to hire a KITT Knight Rider replica for the day!

Sounds like it will be a beautiful day, and the Night Rider car is a really nice touch!!

I agree with not wanting all the fuss surrounding such a massive wedding, I've been to so many where the bride and groom look just worn out from all the glad-handing and running around. One of my closest friends told me, the massive wedding isn't for you, it's for everyone else.

If you and Hannah do come to Vegas, the first 'Margarita's By The Yard' are on my wife and I !!
