My B-day is coming up in a few days and my wife has asked me what I would like (within reason financially). I already showed her the pic of a really nicely quilted Y2D. She said, "No". She basically said, "I bought you a gorgeous Y2D for your birthday last year and you traded it for an original Morse guitar." she's right, I did.

Well I'm sitting here thinking about what to ask for. An Axis, ASS w/piezo, AL, or maybe just new pickups for my Morse. The pickups are nice; but I have trouble in the band mix. That guitar, due to the huge tone of the humbuckers tends to muddy the mix. I was thinking about installing a Fred/PAF Pro combo and maybe even changing out the single coils. I don't know. I am finding myself using my Telecaster in the band a lot more than my Morse. I don't like that.

So, I need some ideas...

I'll let you answer your own question.

... I would have to say that the #1 worst trade I ever made was trading my '95 Blue Pearl AL. I can't say what I traded for. I would be banned...

My Al had no silent circuit and I had installed a full-size copper-plated steel baseplate underneath the bridge pickup. It was so fast and comfortable to play. Heck, I would try to play my Tele or LP and they were actually chores to play compared to my AL...

Hi's not the CIC ALOC for nothing, y'know. ;)

I second the AL- if you've got a Morse and you like your Tele, the SSS AL should be next on your list!

That's a very understanding lady......if I'd traded my wife's last birthday present I think I'd be getting dental repairs this year!!

Hey Butch,

yeah, a Silhouette Special would definitely be something to consider, BUT...

...one more thing: Did you ever try any MM90 equipped EBMM guitar ?
I have 2 of them and even though they're not originally supposed to do, they are handling even hi-gain stuff quite well in the band, and that tonal flavor inbetween a bucker and a single, plus that extra punch gets really addictive after only a few minutes of playing...

...just as a heads-up. Why not tra something new :D

Yes, I still feel bad about it. I should have kept it...

Interesting.... I have never really liked P90s but lately, I have been watching a lot of Larry Carlton vids on Youtube. He gets some amazing tone with his LP Jr. Of course, that's Larry Carlton too....

...and there is soooo much more to MM90ies than just Larry ;)

Give 'em a testdrive on a classy amp that covers several territories. Good chance you just won't let go the guitar anymore...

This is easy, ask her for something else, and then trade that for the Y2D you want. Problem Solved. My fiance would kick my butt if I did that. Good luck. Oh, and happy Bday.

my shout is for a silo spec. I can't put mine down at the moment. I got an SSS but am going to stick a jb junior in the bridge. However mm90's sound like a nice idea.
