I'm so excited - new Pacific blue burst axis - tonight!

Just wanted to share my excitement - tonight, after work, I'm going to pic up my new Pacific Blue Burst Axis - pics to come as I've got it. :cool:

I've owned an Axis Super Sport before, but did'nt really connect with it, I think because of the rosewood fretboard and the hardtail - I like both, but an Axis just needs a maple fretboard and a trem, imho.

This will be my first floyd rose in quite a few years, though, so I will need to adjust a little to it, but I'm glad it's diveonly, because that's what I set up all my trems to do. However, I'm really looking forward to the great tuning stability, and the punch of the sound.

I'm just so excited. :D

Awesome! I just picked it up a few hours ago, and the colour and quilt/flame is great. It's the first time I see the pacific blue burst in person, and it is quite unique in the way the colour changes in the light - in some lighting the colour is almost black, in daylight vibrant blue, in electric light almost greenish.

Anyway, It is flawless and has been played for less than an hour - no scratches, anything - the plastic was still on the back! I love then assymetrical neck profile, and the oil finish - yummy. :D I've just put 10's on it, and adjusted it accordingly, with 3 springs, and a trussrod turn, and it plays like a dream. It took a while longer to change strings than I thought, it's been a long time since I've owned a floyd guitar, and it sawed through two 0.010 strings, before I realized the nut had a small burr - I just deburred it with an old wound d-string, and now it's fine.

That's it......next guitar PBB! Those two examples on this thread are up there with the BFR models. Somehow my purple quilt looks a little 2D tonight...... :(

Thanks for the nice comments - I just played it on my pocket pod for 45 minutes - wow - this thing really rocks. It is incredibly easy to play - really wonderful neck, and great tones.

Azazael: Will do! I actually laid the Dimarzio push pull pot on the table, so I wouldn't forget it - guess what I forgot? :D And it's my day off tomorrow, so I won't get it until thursday, but that's ok. I'm looking forward to it.

A question: Is it usual that the switch feels kind of cheap? It rocks a bit around in the center position, and it has a small circuit board on the back, in the cavity?

This colour is really hard to photograph - it ranges from deep blue to almost black to blue/turqouise, depending on the light. I've tried taking a lot of pictures, and the one that comes closest to representing the actual colour, is probably this, taken with nondirect dayligth. It is such an awesome guitar. :cool:
