I had the honor of having drinks and dinner with Mr. Keith Baim tonight. Met for cocktails and sushi at the Cannery in Newport Beach and then off to a coffee house to hear Keith play a few of his original tunes - including the debut of "The Ball Family Boogie" - a great upbeat tune that Keith would agree would sound great with a full rhythm section and a few horns.

Keith played his beautiful ruby Luke BFR with a special ruby sparkle back - an incredibly gorgeous guitar. Keith sounded great and was well received.

Thanks Keith for a great evening. See you again next time I'm out in CA. Dinner's on me!

That was a fun night! Drinks, laughs, sushi. Some guitar.
The quality of individuals on this forum is really remarkable. And im always amazed how funny, smart, and kind everyone is. And how supportive and respectful this community is with eachother.

The guitar was kind of a gift from a friend (that I paid for) and was the inspiration for the tune "BALL FAMILY BOOGIE" which i wrote while awaiting its arrival as a tribute to Sterling and the Ball family. It's in DADGAD tuning. Even has a section for a Bass solo (gasp!) in case I ever get to play it with BP and J. Ferarro at some future bash. I think John's in.

If I get it recorded with horns and everything I'll post it...

Thanks again EGGMAN

Forgot that I snapped this pic, lousy as it is, with my iPhone. Here is the amazing Keith with the fabulous ruby red BFR.

A big "Mahalo" to Keith from me as well. He drove 180+ miles on Saturday to hang with me and let me play with his trans black BFR Luke. And all I could do was to buy him dinner at In N Out Burger.

Keith, if you're ever out here, I'll have to treat you to a hula pie. Or two. :D

Thanks again!

Hula Pie! Offer still good if I go to a different island? :D

Glad we got to hang out. Definitely a nice day. Kinda cool how you were only a couple miles from INSTRUMENTAL MUSIC where we got to plug in.

Best to you James. Hope to see you again soon, if not the islands maybe the next Bash.
Aloha
