Question Didn't someone put EMGs in their sub1 recently?

I've been GASing for a guitar with Actives in it as well as GASing for a Sub1 guitar. I think it would look really cool and sound killer with EMGs! Didn't someone do this recently with their Sub1? Is there enough space for a battery in the body cavity?

I had two EMG 85s in my SUB1 once upon a time. There is indeed enough space for the battery.

For the curious, it didn't quite sound like a Luke. Very similar, but there were subtle differences.

I'm not interested in imitating a Luke really (although I wouldn't mind to have one). I'd prob go with an 81/60 pair instead of two 85s. I'm after the somewhat Metal type of sound. Not overly Metal but more so than the passives in my JPs. Just a different sound option really!

Yeah, it's got me GASing pretty hard right now! I'm looking around the house for stuff to sell so I can afford it. I'm coming up short though... Haha.

You could put EMG's in your Mystic Dream, but you would have to file down the mounting ears of the EMG's rather than routing your JP.

The thought has occurred to me that's for sure! I'd rather keep 'er stock though. Besides, I like the thought of a Sub1's all black neck and body with the diamond plate pickguard sporting EMGs!! I think I would have all my bases covered if I could acquire that kind of guitar!
