Hello everyone, my name is Joe. I am a SSG in the United States Army, currently stationed in Okinawa Japan. I am 32 and have been playing the better half of the last 15 years. I played primarily acoustic guitar for the first 10 years or so, with a few cheap electrics along the way. In 2005 I finally broke down and bought a nice electric and haven't looked back since. I currently own an Ibanez Prestige Hard-tail RGA 121 with Sperzel tuners, a Seymour JB in the bridge and Seymour Jazz in the neck. I listen to / play primarily rock, some metal, and a little blues and jazz. My biggest infulences I would have to say are EVH, SRV, Tool, Jimi Hendrix, Slash, and I listen to just about anything with a little complexity and lyrics I can understand. I am waiting on the ship confirmation of a EB Axis Super-sport HH, hard-tail in Translucent Gold with maple neck.

I was looking for another guitar, I like my Ibanez, however with Ibanez it seems unless you pay upwards of 2 G's you have to upgrade pick-ups and tuners on your own, and there is a lack of hard-tail models other than a small handful, so,.....I was looking at PRS's as well, however I just can't see spending that much for a real one. I was going to get a PRS singlecut SE, and upgrade P-ups and tuners, when I stumbled upon EB Musicman guitars. I have seen them before, in ads and in person, I have never played one, however I got to the Axis page and instantly recognized it as being used by EVH, ( big EVH fan) and always liked the look. I am strictly a hard-tail player, liked the price and the fact it had real pick-ups and good tuners stock. Started mulling through these forums, and everyone seems to have nothing but good things to say and there seems to be a real loyal following, so, I am sold. It looks like a real quality instrument, can't wait till it arrives. I will post pics once it does. Take care everyone!

Welcome aboard! Think you'll definitely dig the Axis Super Sport hard-tail. And, definitely a cool color choice with the Trans Gold. :)

cheers always, eh

Thanks everyone! Just called MF, haven't seen my ship confirmation yet, they said the card wa denied....don't know what the problem is, the money is there, other than it's pretty much the wife's account, Bank of America, and not my Credit Union.....I will find out Monday, it is Sunday here, so,....I will get to bottom of it. I do like my Credit Union MUUUUCCCHHH better, BOM dos this funky thing where you have to kepp like $500.00 iin there for overdraft that you aren't suppossed to touch, you can dip into it, but then they pay it back when you deposit more funds,..and they don't really include it in your balance; it is stupid.

Anyway, looks like I will be waiting a little longer, but I think I will like the EB, I would like to find a brand to stay with. I really don't have much choice in colors and such, especially over here in Japan, so Musiciansfriend has the SS in yellow w/ maple neck, so,...like that combo anyway. Thanks for the welcome again, I'll post pics once I strangle someone at the bank to get this worked out. Later!

"at ease" Joe. Once you play a MM you ain't going back to anything else!!

In addition, I believe Japan has "quite" a selection of MM guitars to look at. So, in the event the MF purchase doesn't materialize, you may get a first hand look at some nice guitars.

Check with customer service for their location - dismissed.:)

No,..I'm not in Mainland Japan,....Okinawa is a small island, only about 60 miles or so ( I think) long. It is not that big. There are a few little music stores here, most of the stuff is second rate, and even some knock-offs. With I was near a Guitar center, Sam Ash, etc..... I'll get the order to go through eventually,...got to call the "verification" department. I'm using the card from our other joint account, I guarantee if I was using my normal card it would be fine. I don't think it is the price either, I just ordered 2,000 in drums and symbols about 2 months ago.

I am looking forward to the EB though, I would be willing to bet I will stick with them, the quality, design, and price look very good. ( Also built in the USA +) I wish they had more hard-tail models though,......I am real picky for being in tune, and I have already learned my lesson with a Fender and the Vai Ibanez JEM 7 string,........very, very cautious to get another trem,......I do like the looks of the Luke and the Petrucci though,......the Morse comes in a hard-tail,....but,.....we'll see, maybe in the future sometime.

OK, got shipping confirmation; Axis should be here in about a week! Kind of glad too, because my only other guitar is at the factory gettting refretted, so....A little break is good every now and then, I think it is good to reflect on and to get out of any rut I might be in.
