I recently tried an amp at a local guitar store and another guy was trying out the same amp.
We both noticed something strange:
My Music Man case had my beloved Axis, Ernie Ball Picks (Med., Yellow), Ernie Ball strap locks, Ernie Ball Regular Coated Titanium Slinkys - it was pretty much all Ernie Ball.
His case had a very nice and expensive Brand X guitar with all Brand X strings and supplies.
We both were committed to each company because they did well by us and wouldn't go near other stuff because we had been burned before.

"A company will be remembered not for its people or its history, but for its products"... or something like that.

It's funny. I've used Slinky strings for years, before I ever was interested in and got my EVH. That turned me on the MM name and I heard a MM amp in college and wanted one ever since. Finally got one a few months ago. Looked down the other day and noticed my guitar strap was EB....go figure.

I don't think I got any of these just because of the name, it just turns out that each item stood on it's own for it's intended purpose.

I'll go along with that.

I use slinkys on both my EBMM's, my Godin and whatever I restring next....since I've got several packs waiting. I use Dunlop .71's (the purple ones with dinosaurs on them). I'd probably use an EB strap, but I use the one I bought in 1967. It hasn't broken yet....:D

I would disagree with this in the case of EBMM. The company will indeed be remembered for it's products. However, the people and history at Ernie Ball are of equal importance.

It is because of the products that I ordered my first Ball, and it is because of the products, people and history that I will buy a number of EBMM guitars in the next several years.

The staff at EBMM are the best in the business.

Great thread, thanks! Beach Radio How do you like your new Coated Titanium RPS slinkys?

Were getting some great responses on them from a lot of artists.

Sounds like a similar story I had... though we were playing different amps.
I use the slinkys as I've tried all the others and none of them struck my ears the way slinky's do!
