Oh buddy...what is the theme at namm going to be this year? It has to be something good, of course it will be, to highlight this monster!

the theme is hysterical

The bass behind is secret........

Lets just talk about talk bass. If you wonder why I think they can be unfair....I am getting ripped over a bass that they have no idea what it will look like other than three single coils. Funny. I guess that putting the public in real time and not designing and developing in traditional secrecy has zero rewards over there. Does Fender show them what they are up to?

Geez Im just revoicing a music man while at the same time making sure it has the signature sound. Im adding a flavor to the ice cream shop and still get bashed.

Lets just let this go........ Im just pointing our that I could show and curtained covered bass and most there wouldnt like what they think the shape is behind the curtain. Iam still doing what I do. Im just trying to inch forward an industry that has separation anxiety with 1953

And we appreciate it (obviously)!

The signal to noise ratio can be extremely low on TB and there's a relatively serious amount of "Look at me!" kind of posts, but I suppose that's to be expected with how big and how open it is. And it IS the biggest online bass forum ever. You get the 14 year old skate punk who's been playing bass, oh, all week, and then you get the old geezer professionals and everything in between.

I participate infrequently but I do participate. Occasionally, I do learn something, but it's mostly an attempt to provide accurate information because so many people THINK they know what's going on with EBMM and so few really do*. And there are more than a few TBers who have seen the Bongo Light! (Just saw a guy today who chose a Bongo over a P bass.)

Of course some of them can be unfair and myopic and short-sighted. In a way, it really is representative of the real world bass community in that if it doesn't mostly look like a P bass or a J bass, WE'RE FRIGHTENED.

But I obviously think it's worthwhile to pay attention and participate over there. Somebody has to keep an eye on it, right? And a few of the Knuckleheads also do a good job of keeping the information straight. (Danged Fanboys!)

So, BP, what's the theme for NAMM? We require hints! There must be hints!

And I can't wait to hear this bass.

Jack

*I hardly know myself, but at least I can fix the obvious stuff.

One question that pops into my head frequently when I read TB is "what other manufacturer invokes such passionate debate?"

I think it says a lot about the EBMM fans who know and love Music Man basses.

I think it also says that there isn't really a lot going on with other manufacturers...at least not enough to invoke the passion that EBMM does.

I read the stuff over there.

DISCLAIMER - If you post over there...great. Not directed at anyone in particular.

That site is garbage. My opinion and I am sticking with it. Funny thing about those that "know".....whatever. Play what you like. I see the EB bashing as a sure sign of jealousy. Why keep bringing up the bongo = toilet seat issue? Get over it. The bongo is the best metal bass on the planet. I love it and the shape. So what?

Pops loves to show us knucks what is going on BEHIND the curtain. No bells, whistles and a mean sounding voice. He invites us into his house....very very cool.
Then idiots bash this bash that....hey...go practice and STFU and have a nice day.

BTW...I have always loved the shirts. ;)

Wanna cry? See below of my offer.

Sorry for the OT...back on the subject. I am very intested in seeing what the new bass will be all together and done. I like the single coil idea. Never played one before...so the interest is definitely there.

Thanks as always for thinking out side the industry NorMalsy. I have always pushed the envelope and love it when Pops does as well. Continue with that fire and passion as you always will.

Just thinking out loud. I know there's an Axis Super Sport already, but seeing as though this is an SSS bass, I think the name should start with an S, and have Super Sport after it.

example: The original Prototype with the Sterling body could be the Sterling Super Sport.

I think that would be badass BP!

I always like following these kind of processes but I also understand keeping things on the downlow which at my company where I do Purchasing and marketing I generally do as if you open it up sometimes you get too many opionions...

Most of them illinformed.

I'm not sure if this has been discussed yet, as this is a VERY long thread, but are these PUPS going to be noiseless? I mean I've had my share of Jazz basses, and hated the single coil hum. I know that the HS version uses a hidden single acting as a cancelling method, but how will they work in THIS config?

Thanks!

BTW KEeep up the GREAT work, and keeping us Knuckleheads in the loop.

There is a reason the call it "talkbass". I find that many over there have nothing more to do with the bass than simply owning one or wanting to. I appreciate what you have shown us BP. Please continue.
