nice

but whats it sound like?

I realize that you're probably fishing for sound clips... but in the event that you're not and just kinda reading this thread for the pictures :p here's what BP had to say about the sound:

This is the best time. The two old goats Dudley and I at work. I am going to jump out on a limb and for those of you who think that maybe we had it......we still have it.

It does have three very special pickups that are our most current efforts.

There are some HUGE sounds in this bass. (that was with only 9v or less.............hint hint)

oh, and the word BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMMMMM was also mentioned

Just curious: when you are developing a new instrument model, how much thought goes into the actual parts that you are using when you are trying things out? For example, the prototype bass has an existing neck (Dargie Delight) and the body is of a certain shape and unfinished. This must affect the tone in some way. I'm taking it that the final bass will have a different sized/shaped neck and body, maybe even of different woods. Or is it just one step at a time? Test the electronics first, then go onto body shapes, necks and sizes?

Will the new 25th have EBMM straplocks standard? That would be very nice as my last 7ender had Schaller's standard. Just a thought.

Also, I had asked much earlier in the thread how noiseless will the single coil PUPS be? Is there going to be fantom PUPS like the HS?

I am going to do something different with this bass too....When it is done Dudley and I are going to take this bass to about five cities and show it to the people and talk about it. Jack (or Erika) doesnt know it and neither does Beaver or Pete or James and Brandt and a few others but we are going to have "tupperware parties" and show it to the diehards first.

 if one of those parties is out this way let me know and I will yank the BFR SR5 and the 30th SR4 out of the vault, along with a certain "other" triple pickup MM...

(I need to pay more attention on here and not go away for a few days)

the theme is hysterical

...I am getting ripped over a bass that they have no idea what it will look like other than three single coils.

Don't mind them. They're just holding a grudge because their fancy basses don't sound nearly as good as a Music Man. ;)

Exceptionally good news for the girly-men!
If the number of strings (or lack there of in this case) is the judge for manliness then let me put on a skirt and purtty up my hair. I'm looking forward to the 6 string version.

ok to steer the disscusion in a different direction, so whats it gonna be called sterling, you cant use your name again!!lol...maybe one of your sons names?
Even if the knuckelhead comments are not considered in the naming I still love reading these types of comments. My favorite peanut gallery.
(Notes to self)
Thing to consider in the naming:
25 x 3 = 75
25^3 = 15625
25^(1/3) = 2.9240177.....
SSS (Make list of EBMM related words that begin with "S")
Just name it what you called this thread.

Right now, there is probably some site out there promoting a rumor that EBMM is developing a Barry Manilow signature bass.

there is no chance on earth that it will be named sherwood.....it has a better chance of being the barry manilow sig before I would name it sherwood
