I see a lot of bass players in this forum listing Mark Bass amps in their signature, I've never tried one, what are they like and what's so special about them? I am planning to go and try one next time I am off duty, but.... I don't really live in the real world coz when I finish work all the stores are closed and everyone is asleep so for me to take a trip to a music shop has to have a real purpose to justify my loss of sleep.

I checked out and bought my Markbass MiniMark largely based on the feedback on MarkBass amps / speakers from fellow knuckleheads on this board. No regrets so far.
I was happy with the power and sound of my old Trace Elliot, but fed up of humping incredibly heavy gear up and down stairs! I wanted something light, but powerful, with a great 'natural' tone. MarkBass fitted these requirements perfectly, they sound great and are so easy to cart around.
In retrospect I probably would have bought a Little Mark + 2 by 10 stack, or maybe the CMD102P combo, rather than the MiniMark combo. The MiniMark is amazing, impressive how much volume it can push through the 6" speakers, but still needs an extension cab for bigger rehearsals / gigs. Great bit of design though.

First off the Mark Bass is my favorite by a ton. SOnic clarity, warm tone sensible controls and feather light. all what I want.

I also think that Marco of Mark bass is one of the few remaining geniuses left. He is a visionary and a passionate man about tone and clarity. In this day and age to be able to make an impact against all the big boys he must be doing something right. I consider him a friend and treasure to the bass world. Is that strong enough? heheheheh

In a week or so (work depending) I should pick up a new CMD102P combo, I am a little concerned about the extention cab I have which is a Gallien-Krueger 400 watts 1 x 15 ElectroVoice loaded, because I am not sure about all this ohm jargon, 8ohms / 4ohms ?? it says 8ohms on the back of this cab, but I don't know if the Mark amp will be compatible.

the markbass f1 is my fav! small, light and packs a punch you wouldnt believe!
i love (also) love it because you get such control over the dynamics of your playing. its razorsharp and it makes you pay more attention to what you really sound like.
apart from that the filters on it can make you sound like an old rotten ampeg or the good ole 80'ies trace elliot/mark king style zing zing.. or every thing in between..

i will buy it one of these days.. just need to find a suitable cabinet :)
