It has been a long and sometimes expensive road but after owning a SUB, 2 SR5's, a Sterling, a Bongo 4 and a Bongo 5, a 2007 SR4 LE and twin 30th Anni SR4's, I finally think I have found my perfect pair of EBMM basses.

For the first time in a long time, I actually get excited when I pick up one of these basses to play. I couldn't ask for a better sounding, playing and looking pair of basses! The top on the SR5 is as good as any boutique "furniture-style" bass. Really nice maple top. I am totally impressed by the workmanship.

I have had the 30th for almost a year (actually strung with flats... and sounds incredible!) and traded my 2007 LE SR yesterday for the 20th SR5 and couldn't be happier!:)

Here are the pair I am expecting to have a long time ....

Im am very proud of both of those basses...glad you are happy!

BP....

Not brown-nosing, but you talked me into the 30th.... thanks! ;)

The 20th I have should be a BFR. It is a serious piece of maple. No idea how I ended up with this baby OR why it was a 30th. The maple is just amazing.

Looking forward to playing these for many years to come.....

yegads!

I think you have most bases covered with THOSE, eh?

except the Bongo. you can only get that with a Bongo ... atleast at the present moment. ;)

Anyway, congrats Baird. I can remember when you were unsure about your first 30th purchase. :)

Ahhhh, to be gas-free ... I can only imagine.

Funny you mention that. I pulled the plug on a black Bongo 5 HH to get the 20th. I was going to pick up the Bongo today. One cool thing.... I actually love how the 20th has the same pickup covers as the Bongo, not like my SR4's at all. Very comfortable for me.

I just wish I could take a nice shot of my 30th SR4. Very hard for some reason. I've done a zillion shots...what's the secret

The 30th is very hard to photograph. I have never seen a pic of one that looks as good as the bass in person. Real hard to get the detail of the mahogony grain in a pic.

Here is an example of mine. It looks terrible IMO compared to what it really looks like....

It's great to hear that you're completely satisfied with the pair; I would be too! That SR5 is incredible. You must have been floored when you first saw it in person.

I like 'em too. At the same time, though, that's one silly thing I'm looking forward to about my orange firemist SR4H, due tomorrow - i have a nostalgic longing to anchor my thumb on the front corner of the humbucker, just between that "old school" mount screw & the front corner of the pickup. Weird thing to look forward to, I guess ... just one of many, though, of course. :)

+1 ... sure is.
