Brandt's price was too low to resist.

I just bought the red Bongo 5H that TPB had in stock.

What am I thinking? Sheesh. I can only play one of the darned things at a time, right?

Seemed like a good idea at the time.

Then again, it's still "the time" so it still seems like a good idea.

He says it weighs 8.8 lbs (!).

It's going to live at the band practice space, so I don't have to carry a bass with me, and when/if we ever get going with gigs, it'll share duties with my trusty DG HHp.

AD, is this your first single H?

Hey, wait a minute. I have a Candy Red 5H!

(so clearly I approve)

Jack

Indeed it is. And yes, I know you've got a rather special one just like it. I even asked... nay, demanded... that you sell it to me, before I realized what's all over its backside.

Mobay was kind enough to loan me his about a year ago so I could see what the difference is, and I liked it but not enough to buy a new one.

Since then I've joined my current band, and I think it'll fit in really well.

AD youve come o age. I remember some of the old threads where you were finding it hard to understand mul.tiple basses

Still do. This was a total impulse purchase.

I pulled out all the rationalization big guns on this.

Such as...

- I'm trying to SAVE money... because the 25th is going to be so flippin' irresistible!

- I can leave it at the band practice space, so I don't have to lug my HHp back and forth.

- It's much lighter, so I won't get as tired at marathon practice sessions.

- There's room to pop and slap on it, and I'm now in a band that plays some funk.

- With the way things are going, prices will only increase.

- I don't have a true backup.

And my favorite....

- With the exception of the fifth string, this is BP's favorite Bongo. And BP is a wise guy... er, man.

Can't wait to get it....

So, adouglas, the first official BFR Bongo is announced (the rosewood neck one), and you're going to pass? Haven't we heard a peep or two in the past about reeeeally wanting a BFR Bongo? :D Or are you going to submit to the addiction like the rest of us? :D

hehe...good catch

The rosewood neck is yet another sweet new twist on the BFR concept... but not one quite compelling enough for me to act on it. I was thinking of something more along the lines of the other BFRs we've seen to date.

Basically I've simply jumped on a really good deal here.
