Thanks for the pics Tom.

Big Poppa, I wanted to sneak out the back door with that bass. :D

It looked amazing and felt SOOOOO good. If a miracle happens and I can place an order, it would be the same specs as that black Single H.

Given that the rosewood neck is not something the local music store will have in stock, it makes it kind of difficult to judge if this is something I would want. It's not like I can test-drive one on a quiet Saturday afternoon or anything.

So, this brings up my question, what effect would the rosewood neck have on the tone/sound of a bass. Compared to the standard maple neck of course. In particular, I am thinking on Bongo. The feel would be different, since it appears to be an unfinished neck compared to the painted Bongo neck. But if there is a huge departure in sound, I would like to at least understand the difference before any blind purchases are made.

Anyone ever able to A/B one?

OLi We dont plan on painting over the rosewood that people are paying a premium for...fretless...why would we offer a rosewood fretless when it is not durable? It is pretty clear....these are fun little collectables

Thanks, Sir, I just wanted to make sure I don't miss the opportunity to order a black/black/black SR4 HS blank plank with an ebony board.

As a new guy around here I've got to say, ..... this is an exciting company that amazes me almost everyday when I look at the forum to see what's going on. I know BFR's are expensive but I might have to look into a Bongo with a rosewood neck, it's almost a no-brainer. Picking a color is going to be a problem though. I agree with Strummer that a white Bongo would be awesome with that chocolate neck, but I guess that has been shot down? Does anyone think that the silver comes close enough to give a similar effect? The cabernet and the gold look good but who knows? The choices here are incredible.

Sorry if this was asked and answered earlier in this thread. I didn't see it if it was.

BP, how will a rosewood neck affect overall bass tone? I know you picked basswood for the Bongo for its sonic qualities and then there is the debate on tonal influence of maple vs rosewood boards. But will there be a tone difference in the rosewood necked basses? I am considering a Bongo HS or HH. Thanks

OK I am about two phone calls away from cancelling this. WE are being swamped with people wanting to cancel their existing orders for instruments or wanting us to swap necks on old guitars.

We didnt offer this to hurt the workers in the factory.

Its simple if you can find it in your budget o buy one of these, great. If not we fully understand but to cancel an order that is in production is not going to work for us.
