Anyone here thrown some of the Duncan P-Rails into a Sub1? I'm debating giving it a try since MF bungled my last order and I've got a standing 20% coupon.

If anyone has done it, did the push-pull pots cause any clearance problems? How'd you wire it up? How'd it sound??

Thanks!

Chris

Never tried them, have to admit I love the bridge humbucker in my Sub.
It definetly has character and its own sound that guitar!

You might consider putting in a 3-way mini-toggle for that pickup. That gives you the Series, Parallel, Split (split would be either P-90 or SC) without having to remove any of the stock Music Man circuit. To do this, just route the P-Rail through the Mini-Toggle and then over to the 3-way toggle.

I've got a Dimarzio Morse neck pickup for my sub, could I do similar thing?
or is that exclusive to P-Rail?

Thanks.... I was thinking of doing the push-pulls so I wouldn't need to put any more holes in the pickguard. I'm also trying to make sure I can use all of the features of the p-rails.... single coil/p90/humbucker. These things have so many options...

Anybody put one in any other 'ball?

my previous idea was to use a pushpull tone pot and wire it up like a PRS McCarty to use the outer coils only. YOu could use the inner coils or use two pp pots and get both inners and outers or variations.
like McCarty

check out two pickup ideas

I actually picked up a push pull pot and checked it for depth and it will fit nicely in a sub1 control cavity.
