I'm pretty sure that once a limited edition instrument is no longer available for ordering from the factory that the dealers are allowed to sell it to anyone, regardless of location. There might be some time restrictions, but there is hope still.

That’s just the thing. US dealers cannot (due to a signed dealer agreement) export Music Man basses outside of the USA. (Except for limited addition or discontinued basses that are over 2 years old.) Therefore anything that I would sell you directly would have to fit those criteria.
