I also have another pickguard I cut for Tele pickups using the standard EBMM bridge. The bridge pickup cutout is a little bit further away from the bridge then I wanted . If anyone wants it I'll stick it in the post.

I dont know if ash is an option.5stringer said these were a special run in 89/90. 40 were made with 20 coming to the U.K. One was sold on E Bay last week with a rosewood neck. But any Silo should be ok to mod.

EBMM doesn't offer the Silo in ash any more - unless they decide to use ash for some future BFR model. I don't know when it was dropped; probably sometime back in the 1990s.

Cool that you got one of the natural finish special runs; it really made a good candidate for the Tele/Silo experiment.

An Axis Sport seems like an obvious candidate for the Tele mod, but there's something about that natural finish ash Silo that makes it a Frankenstein gone right. ;)

I'm realy enjoying it. Sounds great.
Its reversible. No holes have been drilled in the body or routs altered and I have made another full size pickguard that uses the Silo bridge. If one of you wants to try tele pickups, I still have a little piece of material left. So I'll cut one for you.

I'd love to give it a go, but I'm not messing with either of my current silo specials. If I find another at a bargain, or even possibly a Sub, I'd seriously consider it.

Unfortunately I dont have a Silo Spec pickguard to use as a template. The full pickguard is just like a normal pickguard swap if it has pots ,switch and the pickups in. Its still a Silo, that just happens to sound like a Tele. I,m loving it.
