3rd-ed on the Pet trem! I'll prolly get blasted for this, but I'd kill for the bridge on the traditional acoustic-makers new solidbody bridge on this. I had one of them for about a week, and I hated the feel of the neck so much I had to trade it in for a BFR Pet! But man, that bridge was great and so comfy.
Seeing all the protype stuff is so cool. Is there like an archive of this stuff that we can thumb through for older models, or would we just have to search the forums?
I like it. I like it alot. I really like it. Alot!
Seeing as timing is everything, and I'm still onsidering an order for a rosewood neck ebmm .... I guess this may help me thin out any and all remaining non-EBMM guits that are still in the collection.
I know, but do you guys realize that the JP Trem has developed a cult-like following on the Internet? I've seen it referred to numerous times as the best Trem ever developed. Pretty cool stuff!
For curiosity's sake, why did y'all decide to go with pickup rings this time out? Is this a temporary idea, and the pickups will be body-mounted like on the Axis, or is this part of the overhaul?
Why would it be beneficial to choose one over the other? Simply aesthetic? Would a direct mounting give the pickups a little more oomph? I'm all "need to know" now!
I love watching this process! EBMM guys must have so much fun with this- trying out new ideas, figuring out what refinements to put in there, trying pickups to match the different woods, etc.
BP- I hope you can capture some of this process on video! Would be a great addition to the site when you introduce the new instruments.
