Number 3)

2004 Ltd ED number 1 "Radiance Red". They came with the dark headstock.

Number 2)

Maybe some one's been messing with the headstock. About a year ago non-original Pre-EB logos were flooding Ebay.

IIRC, #2 was a used Bongo on GC's website. Someone stripped it, put that logo on it, and swapped teh electronics for something else (it was an HH, and had 4- non-stacked knobs. Poor thing. GC also had it priced ridiculously high if memory serves me.

Thanks Gav, Kristopher and PeteDuBaldo: I understand now, you can't blame me for not knowing this, I only joined in Oct 08 and it would have been impossible for me to search that far back for a matching pic, hence my curiosity. (I'm sure someone will find a way to blame me for asking anyway :D ) Story of my life...

Anyhoooo Very nice bass, I am sure it would be very popular if sold in that livery.

Is that red one really Radiance Red? It doesn't look metallic in the photo.

I guess it must be, though, because AFAIK there are no solid red, non-metallic Bongos.

I love a nice, solid, non-metallic tomato red. Red like Bettie Paige's lipstick. A red like the fake blood in old Hammer horror films. A red like the proto Stingray.

I remember seeing, many years ago, a 7*nder Jazz in that color with a rosewood board and black pickguard. It was one of the first basses that really grabbed my attention, looks-wise.

I'd love to see a a color like that made available for the Bongo.

I've seen Radiance Red (thanks to Pete, when I was first shopping for a Bongo), and it's really cool if you like metallic red.

It is a LTD neck but doesn't look like RRed (and I had one) - RRed was real hard to photo and it might have to do with the lighting but it still looks too primary and non-metallicy to be RRed

I think that must be Radiance Red with the LTD black headstock (note the gold lettering, too). It's just in bright sunlight.

I can't judge the authenticity of your LTD RadRed Bongo from here; however, 2004's LTD was Radiance Red; they had a contrasting black headstock with gold lettering & logo. I actually have a 2004 LTD RadRed 4-string Bongo HS and that's pretty much how it photographs. If you have the serial number, post that in that thread and check it out.
