Nice... Almost the same as my old Silo Special.
What bridge pick-up have you got fitted?... I'm digging the purple.

Its an DiMarzio Evolution. I got the guitar 2nd hand and I am not digging the pick up all that much. It lacks bottom end. I also read that the Evolution works best when it is fitted with a 24 fret guitar. I have an old cheep Ibanez that I might put the Evolution into. I was thinking about a DiMarzio Tone Zone For the SS to add that thickness.

having alot of fun (at home) with a Keeley/Boss Ds-! into channel A of Fender Super Champ XD with Ragin Cajun and Tung Sol 12ax7.

Great Tones from my MM90's......it's all there (except chunky metal).

I my experience, I don't think you will be disappointed with the Tone Zone. Very fat pickup!

Do you find any of the voicings or fx on ch2 useful? Does chan 1 access the reverb?

Candid X-

ch2......useful? yes.....somewhat. I found most of the settings with aggressive distortion to have a terrible decay......signal just craps out.....not a problem with muted/ryhthm work or fast soloing....but for sustaining notes I found it to be a little "processed/digital/unnatural". Also on ch2 there is quite a bit of difference in volume from one setting to the next....a little annoying. Don't get me wrong....I like this amp alot....there are plenty of useful settings (lot's of crunchy classic rock/blues options)...I think you probably could gig with it if you had to. It is probably one of the better amps out there for home use....especially for tone purists. Ch 1 is very nice and tubey. the Ragin Cajun definately adds some muscle too.

All effects are accessible via both channels with level control too - I do wish there were more user defineable parameters on the effects....limited settings there.

All in all....a good platform to start with.....a 12" version with an effects loop would be sweet.

Any other ?'s let me know -

Thanks, Luv. Glad the reverb and effects are universal. Yeah, I kinda expected what you said about the higher gain voices. I like the Bassman, which I think is #3, and also the blackface, but I don't see going for anything much more distorted than that with the little amp.

I notice that it's 8 ohm min out, so that would mean disconnecting the on-board speaker to plug into an 8ohm 1x12, I guess. Hoping it uses a 1/4" jack for that. I've also seen one speck sheet that said it has an ext speaker out.

Thanks for your input.

Bruce -

Did you get that amp yet (scxd)? Had time to get a little break in? I was just curious what you thought.

Last time I was in the UK they were really cracking down on them, I think they can only have hunting shotguns, no pistols or rifles allowed.

Thankfully! The last thing I would like to see in the UK is myself being able to own a hand cannon!

By the way- I'm glad to see that pistol tucked under a bed, and not down the front of someones trousers- imagine if the safety catch wasn't on...

I have had serious GAS for a Mark V lately, and I bet the Rosewood ASS sounds killer through it.

Ahhhh the torture!

Btw marduke how do you like the G Major 2? If you've ever owned a regular G Major, how do they compare? I got my G Major around Christmas time last year not knowing the G Major 2 was going to come out shortly after.

love the gmajor 2, not sure how it compares to the gmajor though as ive never owned one. but im pretty sure its the same with afew more affects... but like i said im not too familiar with the first version.
the delays are very good and dont suck the tone like some people have said in some reviews. awesome piece of gear. now all i have left is to program all the settings i need and program the RJM Amp gizmo mini and the gmajor 2 to the fcb1010..... and i really cant be bothered tight now.. lol

I owned a G-Major I and played a G-Major 2 before settling for the Nova System.

Both are pristine pieces of equipment. You're not going to get bad quality from TC Electronics. (Minus their Nova System release disaster)

The G-Major 2 has some more refinements that I'm not too familiar with. I didn't use it too much when I had it, just mostly for some comp, delays, chorus and some modulation. Programming the Behringer FCb1010 is a challenge if you're not familiar with MIDI. I got frustrated when I upgraded and just stuck with the Nova System.

This is the one I use in the studio and rehearsal space. Bogner Uberschall with a T.C. Electronic G-System, ISP Decimator Prorack G, and a couple stomp boxes you can't see in the pic.

And this is what I use for practice at home:
Line6 Spider Valve 112. A killer little amp that has some amazing tone.
