Hi forum,

I'm a EBMM newbie and I'm a pretty big fan of John Petrucci and I wanna order a JP6. But right now I'm not quite sure about the finish.

Maybe Desert Gold, maybe Pearl Redburst.

In the "Official" pics-o-my-guitar Thread I saw lots of different finishes but most of the pictures were taken indoor on a couch or outdoor in front of a tree etc. But actually there were very few pictures of JP6s in action (during a gig live on stage).

I was wondering if there were any live pics of a JP6 in Desert Gold or Pearl Redburst finish?

Please help me find my finish.

Thx. Musicman1980

Well, you're going to have to rethink the Desert Gold idea, because it's been discontinued. The nearest now would be Orange Firemist, which seems quite similar, with a bit more sparkle in the paint.

I can't help you with live pics. Just Googled all relative terms and nothing close really came up for either colour. Even though I have a poster behind me with JP playing a PR JP6...

Someone's selling a tasty JP7 in DG in the "For Sale" thread. I'd love to add that to the stable...:D

Sorry!

Welcome, Musicman1980!

There are loads of pictures floating around the forum of both of these finishes. 73h was right, Desert Gold has been discontinued, but there are two more fantastic finishes that have seemed to take over quite nicely for Desert Gold. Check True Gold or Orange Firemist, they are bright and sparkle-y! You said you liked Pearl Redburst, which is a Petrucci-only color. Don't completely rule out the possibility of ordering one in Cabernet Pearl, which still has the tasteful sparkle finish in it, but is a bit more brick in color.

If you haven't gotten lots of pictures PM'ed to you already, I am sure you will!
Happy New Year,
Beth
