I think I remember jongitarz saying that every "stresscrack" they fixed was always finish, never wood.

Try "search", there´s a bunch about stresscracks,

On Monday! The team enjoys a long weekend to kick off the New Year

for me, it looks like it's only the finish. The wood would crack in other places and it towards other directions.

No need to panic. From the look of the picture, it does look like it's only in the paint. Is there any way something knocked against it or was dropped against it. Almost looks like something dinged the bottom corner of the neck, too.
