I am really in serious need of some pictures! I sent Fogmann a couple of times (thanks again by the way), and now I just feel like im pestering him asking for a ton of pics!

What I have my eye on:

Steve Morse SM-Y2D-De-Purple Burst

Albert Lee-Black with any pick guard

Axis SS-Black

Much thanks in advance. I saw the recent thread about Albert Lee picks. Helped me lean closer towards them!

Oh yeah. Are the Ernie Ball strap locks any good?

Thanks,

Toetruck

The EB super locks work great! They use the same diameter screw as the factory uses, so they are nice and tight when installed. You can use a strap on the button with or without the locking mechanism, unlike some other designs. I sport them on my JP.

Thanks man that helps me alot. I thought you had to screw in the screw's to the guitar. I did that on my last guitar and they always came loose. I know what im getting with my first EBMM.:D

I hope you realize that all 3 of those guitars sound different. Well the Steve Morse and the Axis will be in the same ball park. I see your avatar is from The Swellers and Nick Diener their guitar player uses an Axis. so if your going for that straight forward punk / pop punk rock sound I would go for the Axis. If you want that AL sound I would look at the Silhouette Special because you can get best of both worlds with 2 single coils in the neck and middle and a humbucker in the bridge. And If you go for the AL do the MM90 version. Just my 2 cents since I play some what the same style of music.

Thank you soooo much Fogman. I really appreciate it. And to NoUse121: Ive done some research. I now know I want either a Steve Morse y2d or an Axis SS. Would these 2 guitars sound the same? I cant decide which one but I think I like the look of the SM more. A few questions though.

1) Where can I go to try out EBMM Guitars?

2) Do guitars you order come in a slightly different colors? That pictures of the SM's look like they are all different colors. Come of them burst out and are just blue/dark blue. Some of them seem like they turn purple again. I dont think I would want that purplish color if I were to order one.

Thank you for all the help and thanks especially to Fogman!

Ahh. Ok thanks. This is my last post on this thread.

I've seen some pictures of SM Y2D's. Some have a colored top of neck, and some are just plain wood.

Can I choose which one I want?

Thanks again for everything

You can post as much as you want :)

I think all of those have purple on the edges. If you don't want purple, go for the Tobacco Burst finish (my personal favorite on that guitar).

The Matching Headstock (head painted) is an option that you can get for an additional cost. It's up to you!

Toetruck,

If you can get to central Connecticut, visit Pete DuBaldo at Beller's/DuBaldo's just outside of Hartford. I stopped there one day to better understand the differences in the EBMM lineup. I played:
Axis
JP
AL
Silo
Silo spec
Y2D
and I think I even played multiples of a couple. I learned a TON!
