That's a good question. I'll contact the Ernie Ball german office to ask about the number made for the european market (Germany/Austria).
I've checked the Stingray with the Boss GT-10B yesterday....WOW! Unbeatable duo!

Hi Benzo!
I think it's improbable to see that rare beauty in store (I asked everyone
and I had to order one for testing in Hamburg -> 5 days waiting ... but it's getting longer already). The only store that you could contact via phone prior arrival is JUST- MUSIC (Just Music). The stores are in Munich, Berlin and Hamburg. The bass is not available online on Just-Music website, but they have a really good distributor and everything you want to order. Anpther possibility is, you search online a good store in Stuttgart and order one for testing (show that you're seriously interested!).... in most cases it's not a problem.Not a good message, I know....sorry!

oh...that's nice! But the price is the highest (+200 Eur) I've seen so far. That explains the 4 limited avilable in-stock, I think. Avarage is 1989 EUR. Nevertheless, the bass is worth the price.

Bongo is very popular in Germany, there are many in-stock in stores in all variations.
Manage to bring you one, if somebody goes to Germany!
I saw in Hamburg on one day maybe 12 Bongos..

I received an email from ErnieBall Germany today (01/30/09). There are only 50
Ebony Editions build. There will be no additional series.

I just wanted to add that I finally got my own StingRay Ebony ltd. - I guess it's one of the last of its kind. Actually it's a REAL nice addon to my ltd. REDHOT StingRay, but of course with totally different tonality...
