Zak, It was a pretty short-lived color. It proved difficult to shoot. I think it may have lasted a year or so, 2001 to early 2002.

Regarding numbers, I'd have to do some research. Any particular instrument?

Morning from a bloody freezing UK.....

Just bought myself a fine Stingray 5 SH to join in the fun with. I purchased it from a guy in Texas.

My serial is E65590

Any details please?

Also I suspect he was a finger picker coz the shinyness of the actual pickups has dulled, especially over the G.

Is there anything I could use to clean these up...or rather anything that I shouldn't use?

I was thinking of using some diesel with a handful of sand thrown in

...Now I'm off to search for a set up guide

I just purchased a Sting Ray 4 with the Serial Number 42619. It has the serial number stamped on the Bridge instead of the neck plate. Any info regarding age or anything else for that matter would be greatly appreciated.

you are correct about that - yours was built on 07/19/07 and was shipped to Castellano's House of Music on Staten Island, NY. Nice - congrats and welcome!

Your StingRay 5 in Tobacco Burst was built on 4/24/08 and was originally shipped to The Perfect Bass in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

Sorry to report, but there is not much you can do to make alnico pole pieces shine. You may be comparing them to the ceramic pieces we used to use on the SR5 - we switched over only a month before yours was built.

Ok, here's the story on these - Bongos in China, I love it!

F13685 - 4/06/07 HH Stealth shipped to the GC warehouse.
F09223 - 01/15/04 Sapphire Black HH shipped to Japan.

Sure, your Natural finish StingRay with a solid maple neck was built on March 13, 2002 and shipped to our distributor in Hong Kong, China.

Lane, this bass was completed on July 18, 2008 and was originally shipped to the U.K. The body wood is Southern Ash, as are all StingRays and Sterlings these days ...
