Does anyone else think there should be another 24 fret guitar with a maple fretboard?

I, personally, don't really like the silo. The pickgaurd just kind of turns me away.

Though, everything else looks great. Maybe some new finish options on the Axis, and I'd definately get one just for like, Hair Metal.

Pat,

I have a question. Why did you go with basswood for the Silhouette and Sterling bass instead of the original wood choices alder and ash?

Thanks! :)

for the initial launch we wanted to keep it simple. not too many models and colors. later as we grow the line we can always add different options, materials etc.

we could go crazy with different models, colors. so many cool combinations of body woods, parts, colors etc. but we also have to look at the price point and keeping the line focused on what works within that price point.

Makes sense.

Wouldn't do selling BFR guitars for lie, $400 dollars.

Are the flamed/quilt maple tops real, incredibly thin useless veneers, or just like, photoshopped on or whatever?

Also, how much would you guess that the Axis 40 would sell at, along with the Silo?
Are we looking at under a thousand here?

Also, I just noticed that I actually LIKE the white Silo with maple fretboard. :)

the quilt maple tops are a veneer. i think they look fantastic.

the street pricing for the AX40 in the US will be $549. The Silo will be $399.

Hey Guys,
We're looking at March / April for the first delivery. International distributors will get first dibs on the March container. Domestic dealers will see delivery end of March, early April.

The website is taking a lot more work than I originally thought. But we should be good by the end of Feb.

Hi Pat,

Do you have any word on pricing in Japan? Can I beg you to let it be in line with US prices (all expenses considered of course)...

Kanda Shokai is the distributor for Sterling by Music Man in Japan.

The pricing is determined by the dist. in each country. Each country has it's own import duties and taxes that they deal with on any imported goods which affects pricing.

I wouldn't mind having a back up to my "sparkling green" silhouette special. The color was discontinued like what, almost 10 years ago? I call it zombie green, and the guitar I call my "doomstick" haha...

I'm excited for sterling, even just for the fact the logos on the headstock look so much better than the lame olp logo. I'm sick of breaking down olps to black out the headstocks just because that logo annoys me...
