Some people have been wondering what the tonal differences are between the regular maple neck with rosewood fretboard and the all-rosewood BFR neck. I ordered a rosewood neck JP for myself and promptly voided the warranty by removing it from the piezo Pearl Redburst body and swapping it onto my non-piezo Autumn Redrise and recording some quick before/after clips.

I used fresh EB Slinkys along with the same exact amp, mic, and level settings for the clean clips.

While the EQ setting on the overdrive clip is different than that of the clean, both maple and rosewood used the same strings, amp, mic, and level settings.

After 20 minutes with the rosewood neck on the guitar I won't be putting the maple neck back on it. It feels even better than I hoped, and I'm digging the way it sounds. If some of you missed the boat, we have a few rosewood models still available. Check the site! Incoming EB guitars and basses!

I'm listening to the clips again, the JP can really twang, I'm impressed.

Nice playing too!
