Are Chrome covers available anyware? Im looking to change the look of my AXIS SS. Wondering if someone makes a cover that would snap on or something. BP mentioned that the 25th guitar had AXIS SS pickups in it too but they have the covers.

I think it would look awsome

I found Chrome covers that fit the MM90s on Amazon.com

[ame=http://www.amazon.com/SINGLE-COIL-PICKUP-COVER-CHROME/dp/B0006ZRN90/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&s=musical-instruments&qid=1236264663&sr=8-3]Amazon.com: SINGLE COIL PICKUP COVER CHROME (SET OF 3): Musical Instruments[/ame]

He also has MM90 covers, Tremolo Tip covers if you search. They are plastic, but chrome colored. They look really good.

The problem with humbuckers is that you can't change the tops. However, I put something similar to this on my humbuckers once. These are cheap and if they wear out, you can buy extra sets.

They're on MM90's..... There was a post in the last couple of months where they came from (I didn't buy them, so don't know)

... ...also, you have to apply solder underneath.

Also, you have to remember that if you're not wax-potting the entire thing, there's a possibility that the cover will make the pickup microphonic. Just something to think about.

well I wouldnt say butt ugly, just different. Im not into modding my guitar anyway permantly. No soldering, glueing, waxing etc... Just thought if it could be done I would. Kinda like changing the pickguard.

thanks

I bought some chrome humbucker covers for another brand guitar I have to change the look - In my naivety I thought the were exactly what they said - covers and not part of the casing that had to be potted and all that stuff! Should've looked into the installation of them first prior to buying... D'oh!

Is there such a thing as a 'cover' that simply slides over existing open coils that doesn't require soldering / grounding etc - purely for aesthetics?
