Hi

First post!

Three questions for ya regarding the 4-string Stingray:
(yes, I have tried the search button)

1. When did the Stingrays start having contoured bodies?
2. When was the 3-band EQ introduced?
3. When did EB stop making SRs with glossy necks?

Thanks!

regards

Thanks for the reply, Aussie Mark.

Are you sure about glossy necks not being produced after 84/85? (meaning EB never produced glossy necks?)

My guesstimation would be late 80s/early 90s... Anyone?

(I know the 30th ann. SR has a glossy neck, but that was a one-off..., and I know all pre-EBs have it, but I _hate_ the slab body. Had a '78 before, and got bruises when playing with a pick.)

all my necks before 94 are glossy, i have twop 93's one early is glossy the later 93 is not, it is satin finish so it was in mid 93 that the necks became not glossy

Thanks, barginkov.
You have quite an arsenal of Stingrays I must say! :)

How about neck profiles? How have they developed over the years?
I like 'em as thin as possible. What year(s) would you recommend?

i think neck size varies whithin the same year, my thinnest neck is my 95 teal sr 4,the chunkier necks are definetly the 92 and 93s, although my 93 white with rosewood has thinner neck, my 89 blu has thinner than my 89 sunburst, so i dont believe the it goes by year, but more like how they sanded them down that particular day and employee,
