Anyone have good suggestions for wall hangers that will securely hold EBMM guitars? Don't want to have them falling off the wall...

I use Hercules wall hangers and they are great...good and solid.

One thing though...if you get that particular brand...don't use the screws that they come with...they're useless...way too small. Get bigger screws and wall anchors to mount the wall hangers properly....that's what I did, and my Balls are very safe.

I'm going to put it straight into the stud, I'd never drywall mount the thing. It won't budge.

Also another question, I want to put something against the wall like a pad or something for the back of the guitar to rest on so it's not in total free-hang... Anyone do anything like this? I was thinking a tennis ball cut in half or something... :)

I use 6" + 2" inch pivoting String Swings. I think they are better than the others that have those movable parts. I never did like the little arms on the Hercules hangers. The String Swings work excellently to hang balls on the wall. I use the ones for flatwall for FLAT surfaces.

Long time String Swing user here. They work great and have tons of different types for your application. I have a slat wall set up; works and looks great. No affect on the neck either.

Hercules for me...short and sturdy! I too used my own industrial strength screws though!

Never needed to mount a pad either....whats your thinking there?

If you bump against the guitar the paint from the wall can transfer to the guitar and it is a nightmare to try and get off. I use String Swing hangers and just use the sheetrock screws that come with it. I have held guitars and basses on them for over a year and not one sign of it wanting to come out. If I didn't feel safe I sure wouldn't have hung some of my collector pieces from them.

I'm not sure, first time mounting a guitar to the wall, and I'm thinking it'd be nice to have it resting against something... I'm sure its not necessary though.

Do not know about wall hangers makes me nervous no matter how well secured they are, but I am going to build some glassed in wood cases this summer to show off a couple of mine and keep the dust off.

Dunno, but I kinda share the same sentiments as Keith. I get nervous! Plus I live in CA, so ya never know when a quake is coming, even if it is small.

And what 'bout them rumors that keeping them hung at the headstock causes stress on the axe? Totally unwarranted?

Yea BP said that was crap about the stress on the axe, but being in Cali good point about quakes.

I use the Hercules hangers. Awesome.

I just installed another one on the wall as I just enter the master bedroom. Your axe becomes art while you aren't playing, and if you hang it where you walk by regularly, you play a LOT more.

The locking claws lets you sleep at night in earthquake territory.

I'm going to put more up around the house so that I never have to walk very far to pull a guitar off the wall. And like I said, what looks better on your wall a Van Gogh poster or a living breathing Music Man? All I'm missing now is halogen spots.

If you really want a pad use that grey foam insulation (I think it's for drafty doors) that's sticky in one side. It's like an inch wide. Just put your guitar on the hanger and lean it back to see where it would hit and just stick the foam there... Isn't there some bad chemical inside of tennis balls that's bad for you to inhale?

Oh. And +1 to the Cali comment. Don't trust mine on a wall either... Especially if the whole wall came down, then again I'd probably have bigger problems than a wounded eb if that happened...
