As to gigging, I'm an amateur with little time to play. I don't have the skills, nor time to gig. I just play along to CDs & MP3s at home. My wife also plays drums. It's a stress reliever for me.

I do like appreciate nice equipment though and would rather learn on good equipment versus satisfactory equipment. I realize that disliking carpeted amps might sound trivial. But I have three animals that shed. Carpeted amps attract animal hair like a magnet.

Thanks to all for the advice and comments.

If you find a guitarist and the three of you just start jamming favorite songs every now and then, you'll love it. :) You and your wife are gonna lock up real well.

As for the carpeting, I feel you, man. Had to use the vacuum on one of our pooches once. but it's a small trade for such a good amp. When I had a carpeted cab, I used to put it in a place that the doogies didn't like to go. Kept the pee and fur off of it pretty well.

And you're welcome. :)

Fortunately, I have a female dog so there is no spraying. And my cat is too fat to climb upstairs.

You are right about it being a small trade off. I'm really amazed at the sound quality with the MB over my previous GK Backline 210. It has such a rich sound with a lot of harmonics, overtones, whatever you call that stuff. I didn't realize how important the amp was to the sound until I was purchasing an amp to go with my Silhouette.
