Hey all. I just picked up a used black SUB that, unfortunately, has a small chunk/ding taken out of the top. Apparently, a flying microphone did the deed. So, I wanted to see if anyone has any experience repairing a similar type of wood/surface "imperfection," and could advise me as to an economical, but effective method to fill, dress, and recolor the matte surface, of a damaged area, on a SUB.

I did a quick search on the boards, but didn't find anything.

satin/matte finishes are not easy to touch up. I've actually had much better luck in touching up glossy finishes. the satin finish will always look shinier in the area you filled in. Re-spraying the entire body at on time is the only way to get the satin finish even and consistent.

I'd have to agree with everyone else at this point and go with the power of the sharpie.

Nail polish will work also and if you put it on and let it dry, you can build up several coats to fill in a good size chip.

stickers work too :) +

like the guys said - i'd leave it for now. if it really eats at you you can always get a proper fill done later.

I feel it would be disrespectful to sully up the face of a nice EBMM instrument with a sticker... even if it is a stripped down version. ;)
