Serial Numbers : What is the production date of my guitar?

Hi I'm conidering buying Silhouette Special Guitar with serial number G18060. Can you give me a littlle info on when was it made? Thanks!

Hi cave, welcome to the Forum. The first thing I would ask the seller is if he could provide you the correct serial number. The one you have refers to an Axis in Trans Gold.

I've just bought a sweet Trans Red NOS Axis Sport from Royal Music in NY. Can I get it's DOB? I'm guessing it's an early one as it has the old stylee MM logo on a recessed neck plate. Serial no. is A92661.

Yes, Royal Music is the NOS king! A lot of brand-new rare gems still at their store ... this one was built on 11/26/97 and is a Trans Red HSS Axis Sport with a rosewood board and a tremolo. Bet it's sweet!

Can someone tell me the dob of my Axis Super Sport? The serial number is G14856.

Quilted maple top finished in turquoise with matching headstock.

Bet thats a sweet guitar also - your tremolo-equipped gem (We call that finish Translucent Blue) was completed on 05/01/01 and was shipped to the legendary Chuck Levin's Washington Music Center.

Thank you so much, Dan! For a 8 year old guitar, it is in mint shape! Concerning the color, is it possible that the finish faded to turquoise? It's definitely not blue like pictured on the EBMM website.

The top of this guitar is SPECTACULAR! The neck is a nice and chunky. You're absolutely right when you say that it's a gem. I love it.

Sure, your guitar was completed on 1/22/08. Our records tell us it has a White finish, piezo, inlays and a matching headstock and was shipped to GC.

No problem, here is the info! Silhouette Special HSS, tremolo Blue Pearl, rosewood board, while pearl pickguard, built on 12/20/01 and shipped to GC.

Of course, always here to help! Your Silhouette Special HSS trem with a maple neck and abalone pickguard in Blue Pearl was built on 09/03/08 and was originally shipped to DuBaldo Music Center.
