The feel of the neck is amazing, though I don't know that it makes my other Bongos any less good. I mean I've played the SR5 a lot, and that one is naked too:)
I haven't had a chance to play it amped, but I'll play it tonight at rehearsals and get back about the tone.

Congrat's on your new Rosewood Bongo, looks killer with the Tort Guard, can't wait to hear your tone report.

Ok, a first and rather inconclusive tone report: It sounds just like a Bongo 5 HH:D

Alright, it is a little tighter and more defined in the extreme low end than my green Bongo, just like my old heavier DG one was, but the surprise is that the rosewood is even lighter than the green one.
I keep looking for the aggresiveness Oddjob mentioned, but no this one is normal, any-day-of-the-week, earth shaking Bongo HH action and business as usual:)
So, to sum this first amp impression, I've gotten myself another kick ass sounding Bongo:cool:

Interesting- My HS rosewood is much more aggressive sounding than my two HH bongos, which sound identical to each other. I wonder what a single H with rosewood would sound like? (wish I would have ordered two now!)

I have flats on my HS Bongo, but from memory my DD HS wasn't more aggressive than my HH:s, it was just not quite as good haha.
I'll also have to say I've only played through an old Roldand Cube, and I'll play through a proper amp this week end.
I'll be getting my hands on a Bongo H sometime soon, if there are proper box sizes to be found;)

I hate those Rosewood necked Bongos. They give me GAS pain.

But I'll be back with a revenge.

Asta la vista, Baby.
