A mid-priced built in the USA line that was available for a few years but became too expensive to produce and sell at the right price.

Great basses for the money. I have one and consider it a damned nice Stingray.

I played one once at a local music shop near me and Jack is right, it is an excellent bass for the money. I regret not walking out with it since it was gone within a couple of days.

I'm happy to say a friend of mine called me from a music store to ask me about them as they had one in stock then. He thanks me quite often and really enjoys his SUB.

All I said was "BUY IT FOOL!"

I wouldn't go as far to say that. SUBs that I've played have a) been lighter and b) sounded the same.

I've had Stingrays that were heavier than the SUB I have now. And the electronics are the same - at least on the active two-band model.

But different basses do sound....different.

Without having a/b'd them, as far as i can tell it sounded very, VERY similar to a stingray tone, to the point where i couldn't tell the difference, but they're not as comfortable or pretty in some cases, but if you want a stingray and can't afford one, the SUB is a great decision.

Guy comes in on the 15th, posts in every thread he can find, "come on, somebody knows something, tell me, tell me, tell me" and then when he finally gets an answer (same day and next day, I might add), he's nowhere to be found.

We had a word for girls like this back in high school.

Pffffft.

I know the internet is no place to be for reasonably social people, but for God's sake.
