I miss my Sub, great guitar. Lent it to a friend who is recovering from hip surgery, seemed like a nice thing to do. The two pickup models are where its at.

.... looks first class construction and quality....

Totally; they are such robust, and classy, guitars.

Hardtail, twin humbucker, awesome

Put some EMGs in that thing! That's what I would like to do with a Sub one day....

EMGs were so very nearly wedged into my little gem. I've stayed passive, though. Pics within a couple of weeks.

Those aluminium pickguards have always been a bugbear of mine though :(

Nice Sub 1. Instead of 2 hummers, you can rout the middle of the body for a single coil and put any Silo Spec guard on it, they fit perfectly. Easy to do, and then the little Sub 1 is more versatile. Or, split the Hummers (they're 4 conductor) and add some push pull pots. Also very easy to do. Look at PRS McCarty setup for some inspiration. Or look at this site...

EMG's require a battery, and it would have to live under the guard. YOu'd only be able to access it by taking strings off. I don't think it's a great idea personally.

Rock on dude....

Congrats!

i wouldnt put emg,s in as it would be sacralidge to the sub1 name,i also dont like emg,s very much but thats just me,the guitar will stay stock apart from some sub1 locking tuners to make string changes easier and for the future maybe a dimarzio in the bridge just to give it a tad more bottom end but thats ages off

Congrats, I have the same color but the pickguard is black.

I want to change the wiring to have the center possition of the toggle for out of phase tone same as the Petrucci. Enjoy it!
