Brandt, pre congrats, is that an 09 or 05 guard on the right ? Man that is going to be one smoking bass. Since you're probably not going to sleep for awhile when you get maybe you can shoot a TPB video review of it ! Rick

Big AL.... some assembly required... batteries not included. Tough times you know.... EB might be exploring the DIY Kits for the hobby enthusiast! LOL. I feel your pain though.

I am currently worth -200$.

A Big Al is not in my immediate future. I have accepted this fact.

Also, there is not a 5 string.

I feel no pain.

Laneline,

That guard is a 05 but since I recently saw on 09 on 67 I will probably order that one too. … You can never have too many choices right?

I will try to get a review up as soon as I am comfortable with the BIG AL which judging by what I heard and felt at the show won’t take long.

Guys,

Also I wanted to let you guys know that I plan on making this my #1. That’s why I ordered it without the matching headstock. My stealth necked Bongo looks great but I’m not so easy on my basses and it has taken some real abuse. (Headstock dinged and scratched to the point that it will need to be refinished/replaced) Once my Big Al is up and running “Gunner” may go into retirement and only come out on special occasions.

Brandt, yes sir, thats the first precept of the Laws of GAS,
67 is a great color in itself, but it's really cool in that it looks like it will go great with a lot of guards, nice choice. Rick

Have you played on your pickguards, pretending there's a bass beneath them?
Then you may write a short review about the feeling of playing with your big Al, with a pickguard on it...

I haven’t played my pick guards yet …. But I did hang them on the wall in my office to see how they would look…

When I looked at the three hanging on the wall, I thought I saw the geico eyeballs staring back at me. Then I realized it was the hangers you used. Whoa!

they aren't hangers, they're the money you could've saved if you just bought three big al pickguards instead of basses

I love the artwork on the right

Now THAT would make a COOL pickguard!!! (The artwork on the right, that is...)

Who says advertising doesn't work...I, like others, ALSO thought about the "Geico eyes" when I saw the hangers....and thanx Midopa, your joke about the "money you could have saved...." almost made me spit out my drink on my monitor...THAT was a close one....TG I wasn't drinking MILK, or it woulda been goners fershure....

I'm hoping EBMM will come out with a Big Al Ball Family Reserve in the Pinkburst over quilted maple top finish (like the guitar version). I'll give EBMM a few months, & if they don't make one, then I'll just have to settle for one in Pearl White (with 3-4 pickguards, of course). How 'bout one in trans. green Ball family Reserve? Mmmmmm....
