Found this Axis on Craigs list and it just does not look right.

I'm gonna bet that this is a Samick Fastback with a knockoff Ernie Ball sticker on the headstock. The factory in China makes this model for a number of companies. I actually have one that's at a consignment shop to sell (I'm looking to get $90 out of it, which gives you the level where it's at). Everything looks exactly like the Fastback. Here's a pic of mine along with the 2 guitars they're trying to copy, sort of.

The shop where I have mine up for sale had Samicks there when I first went in and the only difference I saw was a natty heasstock with sort of a 3d sticker that said Samick. Looked pretty easy to just lift off. I'm sure that's what this guy did.

If he wants more than $100 for it, he's dreaming. Samicks go for $139 new. Silvertones about $259 new.

Which guitar is best out of the group? Well the black one on the left has already been sold and the middle one is up for sale. I played my Axis at church this morning. :D

I just sent the guy a response telling him what he really has and the pic here. Here's his ad.

Jack - I think you nailed it. Good call. Looks like someone did alter the end of the headsock a little, which wouldn't be hard to do.
