But in all seriousness, is there any way of finding out how far down the line your instrument is? Would I be better off contacting Strings and Things here in the UK, or could EBMM give me the details? Was hoping to have my beast for a festival this weekend...

Yep, I know that feeling all to well. I odered mine while I was in the studio and thought it would come in right before a show we had with 12 Stones two weeks later. That's when I found out it would take 4 months to get here. It was a long wait, and I haven't played any of my Spectors on stage since then. It'll come, and you'll be so happy you'll forget about that long wait because its worth it.

They just told me I might be able to get it Friday, hmm...I don't think I will risk taking it to a festival untried or set-up for me...so very tempting though. I see now why Buddhists warn against possessions - you don't control my life Bongo...

I've done my share of waiting and I look at like this. Waiting for something good to come is far better that waiting for something bad to happen.

The EBMM wait is only because they are building you "your" bass. You can shop online or go to a store and buy one right now, but that will be whatever the store ordered, granted some dealers do stock a pretty wide variety of colors, pickup configurations and such. But BP has said that black and natural far exceed all the other options.

For me I would never be able to walk in to a shop and find a left handed single H Bongo 4.

Hang in there, you're very close to getting yours now.

Now me, I would take a tool for height adjustments to the gig but the stock adj. should be just fine.

I don't think it's realistic to take it. I would have to pick it up on the way to the airport, and then when I get to Portugal re-string and re-tune, which would require more set-up than I am willing to do in those circumstances with a brand new instrument...I don't want to rush things, this will be my 'forever' bass, I will survive one more gig.
Certainly not complaining about the wait, it was totally expected, I just had the hope it would be here in time for this show...

I'd definately take it to the show. My 30th fretless came from the factory set up perfectly. I played mine as it was..out of the box. It was my first MM bass so it was all new to me too. As was mentioned earlier start out flat and work from there.

Didn't need a tweek until I changed the factory strings for flats.
