JP6 On American Idol

Frankly, I think his tone sucked. It came nowhere close to highlighting the thick tones that the JP can produce. It sounded thin and fizzy to me...

Yeah, I just watched that youtube video and I'd have to agree. What a disservice to two great companies (Bogner and EB). Also, I want the last couple minutes of my life back, poor, poor Zeppelin song... I'll remember you fondly.

It wasn't a BFR - it was a standard JP6 with piezo, inlays, matching headstock, and it looked like pearl redburst, but I'm not 100% sure.

You really care what finish a pro on a TV show was playing . . . . huh?

On my system, the TV mix was ugly (and it's a good system). No real bottom end, and yes the Petrucci sounded nasty thin, but so do most things on that show.

Trying to resist commenting on Adam Lambert. If he learned the importance of phrasing, and dialed back on over-singing, could be a real talent.

Every song is the same with him - drama. Screaming, whining, and incomplete words that end with his tongue hanging out. I was really sorry to see Allison go...

Yeah, Allison was by far my favorite.

I think about this sometime: I wonder how the results of those type shows might differ if they were radio shows where you couldn't see the contestants - you had to judge purely by sound....
