1. Cost? That's something that you'll have to negotiate with your dealer.
2. The differences in color are best seen through pictures. Carbon blue is darker than Pearl Blue.
3. The BFR, I find comfortable. The arm contour is not as deep as the one on the standard one.
4. BFR is a warmer, thicker sounding guitar, IMHO. Better? That's up to you.
5. You turn the knob on the back of the tuners to lock them.

I think this will give you an idea off how the arm contours differ from one another.
Standard JP6 - Hard cutaway. Comfy.

BFR- the arm rest is a bit more rounded off. IMO just as comfy.

2. Ask Foggy for some pics for both colours. He'll set you up. He's the EBMM picture king around these parts.
3 The BFR has a contour but it's very different from the regular JP model.
