Hey Spud, that's one cool looking workshop you have there! What's the story with all the acoustics? Those projects of yours?

I wish it was - I'm usually there on a Saturday afternoon - it's my mates workshop "Dearnaley Guitars"
I love going there and get to play a lot of the guitars that pass through his hands for set up or repair. Anything from early 50's Les Pauls to modern Axis.
I taught him how to do a gun stock oil finish and got him the Birchwood casey oil and wax.
We have mulled over old strats/gibbies that have been dismantled and talked a lot about the construction techniques used in yesteryear - his place is a mine of info and I appreciate the time he gives at "Saturday Guitar Club" meetings.:D
He is a big fan of Ernie Ball Guitars - he doesn't own one but speaks very highly about them and enjoys working on them. He's trying to tempt me to have an AL shaped body on my Petrucci - now that would be something:eek:

The small acouistic is one he built from scratch and is awaiting a minor repair - half size I bleeb or maybe three quarters. The others are basket cases - that corner of the workshop is "Junk corner" but invariably a source for the odd obscure part
He MAKES the bodies necks etc and doesn't just buy in bits. I have the fourth guitar he ever built and one of his guitars was played by Motorhead in the UK comedy series The Young Ones - it's now owned by Dave Grohl.

Good grief, that is sick birdseye on that neck. Nice one!

The Cherry Burst is actually Honey Burst. It looks brighter in the pic thanks to my mediocre photography skills and camera. It's stunning in person, MM does a phenomenal job with their bursts. I can't remember who said it here, but I recall the statement that "Music Man doesn't do any clown bursts". :)

Hi Luc, this would be an example of the black cherry burst...an awesome color. This was my first ball...sold it to a forum member here not too long ago. Still one of my favorite colors.

Nice birdseye...yow.

BTW, I have a Dr. Z MAZ 18 Junior NR, Z-Best ported 212 cab, and a Dr. Z 210 open back cab that I love to death. Plus, a Mini-Z 5W combo...another Dr. Z fan here! :)
