hey there agian this is what i would go with,if you have a single rec go withc212e legacy extension cab.its 399.0
what a deal even made in the us of a. Two Celestion™ G12 Vintage 30 60 watt speakers
- 8 ohm cabinet
- Dimensions: 26" wide x 10.25" deep x 17.5" high
- Weight: 40 lbs.
- Made in San Diego, California
nice written all over it
the single rec should only be about 50watts any ways
this will make a killer rig,and killer tone friend...

That's kind of what I'm thinking. I can use the HT-5 and the Single Rectifier through it.

I think I'd prefer the Avatar G212H Custom Premier Traditional Guitar Speaker Cab. It looks to be a better built cabinet, maybe larger. Your choice from a selection of different speakers, including V30's if you want. Comes with partial open or closed back or both, many different colors of tolex. Or how about the Avatar G212H Traditional Custom Horizontal Guitar Amplifier Speaker Cabinet @ $369 with V30's if you want? Not bad.

I made my own pair of cab's. It was really good fun, plus you get to make them to your exact specifications. Go for it!

I didn't bother with any sort of design software for them, I just took the old fashioned approach that WEM used, ie: make them big!

got any pics of them Jimmy?

If you're looking for a 2x12 that sounds huge, how about a Bogner 2x12? They have a "Large Size" which can be converted between open and closed back. The closed back version has pretty good bass response. I haven't played it in an open back configuration. They come loaded with V30s.

How about Port City? Their 2X12's are under 800$ and are the best cabs I've *ever* heard.

Does anyone just buy a cheap cab and replace the speakers with some nice ones? Seems like a good idea but I have never done it so...
Yeppers! I just bought a Kustom PA cabinet from MF for $70 that comes with a small horn and a 12 inch speaker. It is rated 100 watts RMS. Unfortunately MF has since increased the price to ~$110.
Just yesterday I replaced the 12 Inch speaker with an Electro-Voice "EVM12L Classic" Speaker that is rated 200 watts RMS, and is used by my favorite guitarist, Larry Carlton.
The EV speaker has a very high output and loads of low-end, without sacrificing the mids and the highs.
I increased the series resistor ohms for the horn to reduce it's effect on the overall tone. Sounds great to my ears.

I post this in all the cabinet threads.

Geezer Cabinets!

I had him build me a closed back 2x12 cabinet with Celestion Greenbacks and I love it.

Great price, quality and a great person to deal with too.

Here is his website:

Here you go, not a great pic, but it gives an indication.

One cab has got Webber Thames (fane copies) and the other has Celestion G12H. They have got a mesh cover, but it's not so clear on the pcs. I think the front cloth may be better if I changed it.
