Hi,

can anyone date my silo? Serial no. is 96025 and i`m curious because it is called MM Silhouette (without special) but has 3 singlecoils and 22 frets. Got it here in Germany from ebay and it´s very fine guitar. Could it possibly be one of the first silo specials? The guitar is already reliced but in very fine condition and sounds very good.

Keith, and here I thought marriage was going to slow you down. :p This is a sweet Axis SuperSport equipped with MM90 pickups, an ash body, rosewood top, and an all-rosewood neck. Shipped to Mojo's Music in Edwardsville, Illinois on 2/24/09.

Hope all of the family is well and and Bailey says "Bawerrr!" (Beaglese for "hi")

You have one of the very first Silhouette Specials! The earliest ones did not have the word "Special" on the headstock. This a very early model, it may even have been at our NAMM booth in 1995. It would have a Wilkinson tremolo, Candy Red finish, a solid maple neck, and Grover locking tuners.

very nice -

Thanks a lot. I think it´s something special also when it isn´t called so on the headstock. The trem and the tuners are others meantime.

Mr Glasgow - what you have there is a Silhouette built on 11/30/90 and it it indeed originally went to the U.K. All the specifications match up with what we have on record.

Dan

Built on st andrew's day!

I bought it from The Guitar Store (now no longer around...) in Hope Street in glasgow...mid-late 91...

thanks

Do you meant the bridge and tuners have been swapped out? Does it still have the white pearloid pickguard?

Dan

Hi Dan,

look here

http://www.ernieball.com/forums/music-man-guitars/38178-pics-my-new-old-silhouette.html#post610459

are some pics from the silo.

A former owner changed the trem from the original 6-point into a two-point. But he will send me the original one in a few days so it is possible to rechange.

The tuners that are now installed are Schaller locking tuners, thats what I think. The Grovers have a screwdriver mechanism on the top of the post, isn´t it? These tuners aren`t installed any more.

My Guitar Serial Numbers:

EBMM Rosewood Axis Super Sport # G30440

EBMM Silhouette Special - Pearl Lavender # G13798

Do you think you can help me out with a DOB on the two listed above??? That would be much appreciated!
