Try plugging into the piezo side and see if you get anthing out of the D string at all when you pluck it. I'm assuming that you're going to need a new saddle, or at least need to find that tiny little part.

What has happened is that the little "metal slug" has come out of the saddle, and this is associated with the piezo. Without it the piezo will not work.

I had to replace 3 saddles on my JP - the trouble was that the previous owner had not cared lovingly for his JP, and they (the slugs) were missing.

Sure - phone customer service and they will advise. If it was me I'd clean both surfaces with some naphtha on a cotton bud and just try pushing it back into the saddle - restring and see if it works. There is no soldered joint holding it in, it may just be peened into place - maybe (and once again ask CS) you may try gluing it back in.

Anyway hope it's cleared up the mystery - but CONTACT CS first before anything else and before gluing it!. (please let us know what the solution is?)

I didn't mean that you didn't take care of it - it just happens and just as well you found the metal "slug".

Any news yet?
