Just got back to darkest Somerset and wanted to say BIG THANKS TO EVERYONE involved in a fantastic event - the whole weekend rocked and Saturday evening was superb. All the musicians were great, the Jamiriqoui boys were outstanding and great to talk to afterwards (and how many chances do I get to do that I ask you?!!) and Albert, of course, was a real pleasure to watch and listen to.

At last I've met the anonymous telephone voices behind Strings and Things and I offer a personal thank you to everyone at S&T for being so tolerant and putting up with me pestering them for TWO DAYS and playing just about every bass they had.

So did Greydad buy a new bass in the end? Was it a Bongo or a 25th, a B6 or something else? All will be revealed soon...

And I met some super Forumites, shame I didn't get to say hello to everyone but to Strummer, Twan, Spud, Mr & Mrs Colinboy, Tiffles, GW and Marco, Mammoth from the Potteries and many others thanks for making a newbie feel welcome - even the Devil, when I could understand what on earth he was saying :D Pretty mean guitarist though, good to meet you Paul.

BP, this was a very special event, thanks for ultimately making it all possible and to DaveB, Pete and the S&T team for the hard work on the ground.

Very best wishes to everyone

Neil

It was great to meet you neil and its good to meet other members and put faces on the names that are all too familar here as we post regularly.
Roll on next year:)

Met some super cool forumites, met some super cool guys from Strings & Things, had some laughs, great food, great beer and awesome music!

Thanks to Pete from S&T for making this all happen and thanks for making a Belgian dude feel welcome in London! I will definitely be there again next year!

Hello all,

What a great show and fantastic bash this year.

Met some of the forumites, great bunch and had a good laugh with/at you all.

Jimmy B is now an honourary Yorkshire-man.

Would like to say thanks to all the Strings and Things boys for looking after me over the weekend, they are a top bunch blokes and good friends.

Thanks to Dave B for helping the old Lemon with organising the event and sorting the backline, some really nice gear to plug into and Brian and Steve (Bushman Brothers) for the sound and PA.

Loved watching all the other artists who were all awesome, no one in the room could stand still while the Jamiroquai boys were in the groove.

Would like to thank all the forumites for supporting the event and making it a success, Blind Lemon gets well tense and stressed leading upto it and its great to see everyone appreciates the efforts he's made.

Let's hope they continue, hope to see you all agin next year.

Firstly, Blind Lemon and all the staff at Strings n Things, just to reiterate what’s been said before, we all really appreciate the time, effort and money S&T and EB put into organising the bash.

As usual, it was fantastic bash and it wa good to meet all of you fellow knuckleheads again. A few of my highlights from the bash were Jimmy B duelling with the Devil (including his one note solo for a couple of bars), the look on the Devils face watching Albert Lee play (I sure the Devil would sell his soul to play like Albert!!) and Rob Harris & Jamiroquia guys who were fantastic.

The only lowlight was Smelly proving he’s a true Scotsman (I’ll make sure I dig out my kilt for next year).

Cheers

A great night...

Many thanks to Blind Lemon, the Strings & Things staff for arranging the bash and all the musicians for putting on a terrific show. And to top it all off I met Albert Lee!

Great to meet up again with Colinboy, Smelly, Lum and Spud from last year and a quite a few new faces. Hope to see you again next time.

....well I have nearly recovered now.

Top top night - hard work but very rewarding.

For those that are interested Albert was playing through the clean channel of a Blackstar Series One Combo - he sounded awesome.

Got to give a quick shout out to the Jamiroquai boys - they grooved like a muthaf*cka

Next year rather than duel him I want to play a Thin Lizzy track with my mate from the North - get some harmonies going where there is room for both of us!

Right I need a good nights rest so thanks to everyone for making it such a great event.

Hey Devil......Im going to take you down next year........hehehehehehe

I accept that challenge BP, and, would be more than happy to duel with the you as long as that implies you'll be making an appearance at our bash.

Yours,

The Devil

p.s. Its all getting a bit "pistols at dawn" isn't it.

I have no soul of my own but have collected many form others along the way which I would happily sell to be able to play like Albert Lee.

I am glad that he didn't want to duel, having my ass well and truly kicked by a man of pensionable age could prove embarassing for a Devil like me.

He was awesome and spent most of Sunday on the stand, and is an incredibly nice guy, first time I've ever seen him live but it won't be the last.

Hey Mr Devil,

Would you accept my challenge for next year? I could do with your soul for my collection!

Well, the challenges have started early this year, normally we get to February/March time before people start dishing it out!

So far we've got BP and Tim.

Looks like the list is getting drawn up early this year chaps.

By the way once your soul is collected by me, you can only drink Yorkshire Tea or pints of bitter, you must by a Whippet or ferret and a flat cap is worn always - even in Summer, you may now want to reconsider your challenges.
